sssh guys you'll just attract the experts who are adamant that the only way to build a true contender is with a hulking 230lb 6'5" power forward on each line

Not saying your wrong, but when the Flames brass, especially Burke speak about that topic, they almost always qualify that statement with the fact that size is required to win in the West.

And the West seems to get the better of the East more often whe the finals come around. Even Chicago who don't exactly fit the big mound are significantly more physically capable than the Bolts for example .

Rust makes it 4-2 with a couple minutes left. Nice break away with some great speed and good Hans on the finish

Pit has no excuses if they lose this game, they've had all the lucky breaks.

You guys think that maybe the turning point was the first disallowed goal. They should talk about it more

Yeah because Tampa hasn't had at least 3 goals off lucky bounces in the last couple of games

I think Matt Murray is now the Pens guy. Fleury might fetch an okay return but not a premium. Pens will value the cap space more than anything. Should be some good options for Treliving in the goaltending department.

yep. you're right there.

The Pens will say all the right things publically, but the offers will be extremely low for MA Fleury now.

I really don't want us to end up with Fleury as "the answer". I just don't think he is.

If that is the end result of all this goalie drama, I'll be pretty disappointed

I agree, I have been a pens fan since the 80s, but man this guy kills me with his up and down play. Matt is the future of this club. Hell even the flames made a run for him at the deadline.

Cant wait to see game 7.

Go Pens.

These seem like rookie coaching mistakes to me.
guessing the calm him down a bit after the game 4 loss. I still feel if he was in net for game 5 tonight would have been it for the bolts.

Sure, thats warranted given Fleury's shaky playoff history. But in a buy low situation with a 2-3 year contract gys like Fleury or Halak can provide a stop gap that would be far better than a Hiler/Ramo tandem. They'd be the kind of guys that get you into the playoffs.

it's a pretty significant chuck of change for a completely average stop gap.
