Awesome man. Thanks. Got it with overnight shipping for $70 CAD all in. Still cheaper than Amazon by 25 bucks, and Amazon is 5 days away. I would wait, but no driver side mirror is a little too sketchy for me.
Nice! They've never let me down. I'm making an order tomorrow too. Would have offered to add your mirror to bundle shipping but I checked it and it was coming from a different warehouse so would have cost the same anyway
Haha. Another funny thing. So the gearbox just didn't feel 'right'. It liked to jump out of 1st gear sometimes, and felt kinda numb... is the best analogy I can come up with. Well the giant bump, that knocked my mirror off, and gave me a couple feet of air, knocked whatever was out in the gearbox, back into place. It shifts very positive, clicks and snicks like it should.
I'm thinking it may have had a bent shift fork or something, and was jarred back into place. That or the thing is gonna grenade any minute.

Probably both.
Frickin' Chrysler
I don't even get it. Every manufacturer will have issues, usually engine related. Mopar seems to make solid engines but the rest of the vehicle will fall apart around them. She'll run great but then the diff will shred itself after like 50 000 kms. It sucks because they always make vehicles that I like but know enough to never buy.
Heard it's better since they got bought in 2011 but I'm still scared to try it. Was going to get a Ram then smartened up and got my GMC

Lol. Fair enough. But GM's have their own issues. Wait until your heater blower motor goes and you have to remove the interior, engine, drop the rear diff, and remove box of the truck for some obscure reason to replace it.
Pfft, that's nothing, I also own a 5.4L F150 and had a 6.0 Powerstroke before that one. Bring it on, pretty much an expert at fixing stupid crap the hard way
Ha! So true. I've heard some guys had all 8 snap and wind up with a $1000+ bill for plugs.
I did mine a few weeks ago, bought the extraction tool and everything. Ran 3 cans of seafoam in the days leading up to it, cracked each plug a quarter turn, filled each plug hole with carb cleaner, let it sit two days, and then went for it. Didn't break a single one. But I got lucky. Next I'll tackle that 'sweet' VCT system they have.

Oh Ford and their better ideas
Glad i'm driving a Ford Escape and don't have to deal with such problems
This one still takes the cake for me. All this mess for what you may ask?
A frickin' thermostat.
Literally 10 minutes on any other vehicle I've owned. The fact that VW pretty much stuck the biggest engine they could fit into that car didn't help either. Then again, that's what I loved about that car
That was easy. Another, "Opening the box took longer" project. Say what you want about these things, but I'll hand it to Chrysler. They make their garbage parts so easy to replace on Jeeps. They're like the "Mr. Potato Head" of vehicles.
Thanks btimbit for the source. It was sitting on my desk when I came into work today. Shipped out of Edmonton. I hear the mirror on your F150 requires the front left CV shaft to be removed, the glove box disassembled and the gas tank flushed for a mirror replacement btw.

And lol yeah I have to take that one, the mirror requires the whole door trim to be pulled off on one of these trucks. Not hard, but a little time consuming. Same labor as a window regulator ffs. I remember doing one years ago on a Cavalier and it was 5 minutes
Yeah. For me that has always been part of the allure of owning a Wrangler. They are one of the last vehicles you can pretty much DIY everything on. And most of it is so simple, it's fun. Like a giant adult Lego set. Even the big stuff.
I really hope that carries forward in the next gen, but hearing they are going all aluminum gives me my doubts on that. But if they do the rumored factory pick-up version, I will be in like Flynn regardless. I will feel sorry for all the dudes that built a JK Unlimited pickup with the Mopar kit, and have 80+ G's invested, when you will be able to pull a diesel Scrambler pick-up off the lot for 40-50 grand.
I had to replace a mirror on my S10 and my friend's CRV when some a-hole sideswiped both our vehicles. The S10 required removing the door panel, the CRV was just a little triangle cover and 3 bolts.
Found them both at Pick n Pull for $30 each. Online would have been over $100 each from where I was looking.
