I was told my a member of the Tsuu Tina that Costco had approached them about leasing some land around the Gas Stop area. This was many years ago, so I have no idea if there is any truth to it or not. Seemed like he might have been involved in band administration.
It wouldn't surprise me if Costco wasn't eyeing up the huge retail complex area on the Nation just south of the casino. It is slated to open after the ring road is open, and is supposed to eventually encompass retail and office on both the east and west side of the ring road. I cannot point you to any specific sources about this, just bits and pieces put together over the years.

The busiest Costco in Calgary is the one in the South by Deerfoot Meadows. Apparently it's also the busiest Costco in North America.

Well that's surprising. I frequent both and the one in the NE is always jam packed while the South location seems a lot less busy.

I thought Deerfoot Meadows was the busiest. If I'm not mistaken Deerfoot Meadows is the highest volume in Western Canada or something.

As I mentioned earlier, the NE store is small and cramped and doesn't have very many checkouts so it would appear to be busier. Just getting in and out of that store is a nightmare because of the poor layout.

Actually the 32nd one isn't the busiest anymore. That goes to the one on Deerfoot Meadows and the Beacon Hills one.

I almost went on a cart ramming rampage yesterday here in Kamloops. Look, I get you want to look at that product. However, you're cart is diagonal in the aisle blocking both sides and now nobody can get past. My flatbed cart is heavy and at perfect ankle height and I'll destroy your ankles if you don't f'n move over.
The thing about Walmart, Costco, Superstore, etc is I feel like going "moooooooooooo" as soon as I get in there and start moving with the flow like a confused he's of cattle. Aaaaargggghhh

Some people are just oblivious to this kind of stuff. My significant other is one of those people. She always seems to be leaving the cart in the middle of the aisle when looking at products on the shelf. I always keep to the side and am mindful of others around me but some people are off in their own world.

That's right up there with people who walk in the front door with their gigantic family, multiple carts, and then immediately stop as if this is their first ever visit to Costco so must pause to acclimate.

So true. Hopefully opening a new one takes some pressure off the others. Hell, lets have 5 more open.
The ones in Okotoks and Crossiron used to be alright but even they're ####shows now

Hawaii isn't part of North America. It technically isn't part of any continent.

That Costco is insanely busy. Why would Costco close down a cash cow like that? Would make zero sense.
