it is what it is...not a best on best tournament so not really the "world championship" but if a games worth playing its worth winning

I know everyone says this is a meaningless tournament, but it still means something to Canada and the players on that team. What an accomplishment! Congratulations team Canada

I've followed this tournament for a lot of years and true it isn't a best on best but it's improved a lot since Canada was sending small town amateur teams to Europe.

Niedermayers wiki page says they are they only two to win all available international and North American trophies. Except that's not entirely true, because as mentioned Sakic didn't win a mem cup.

Patrice Bergeron didn't win a Memorial Cup but he did win gold at the Spengler Cup.
