No one is defending him, he has apologized 4 times, admitted it is unacceptable, taken full responsibility, and there is a review of it. What more could possibly be done? People do stupid stuff some times, even the best of us.

I really hope this doesn't drag on for weeks....

It's already drug on too long. The house is no longer doing business. Instead it is conducting a useless procedural review that simply wastes more time and money.
It was fun for about 10 minutes and produced a couple excellent memes, but enough already now.

They can take a ball to the head kicked 100 feet in the air but slightly graze them with a hand and they fall like little children. Weird sport

It was an accidental nudge - big deal about nothing.

Now grabbing a guys arm like he is a child and trying to drag him away - that was more of a stupid move by Trudeau IMO.

I don't know all the subtle rules of parliamentary process but is there a dividing line that runs down the center which members are not supposed to cross? Basically, if the whip was being blocked by the NDP members why couldn't he just turn to his left and walk around that desk and in front of the Liberal members?

I doesn't know much about it either, but I think if he was to cross the room it would signify that he was joining the Liberals?

I don't think 'crossing the floor' is meant in a literal sense.

I realize that no one is defending him because there's really no defense. However the pro-Liberal crowd has resorted to marginalizing the incident and victim blaming. Nobody is calling for him to step down here but as a citizen that had little faith in his maturity and abilities to be prime minister he's done nothing but solidify my stance.

Victim blaming would imply that there are victims.

The real problem is how they managed to make something so ####ing bloody innocuous and simple to rectify into international news. Totally unacceptable behavior all around

If she wasn't so busy laughing and participating in the silly blocking game they were playing, she would have been in no position to be accidentally bumped, nor would it have happened.

Victim? Please!

And I'm no Trudeau supporter either. I'm having trouble with all of this. I think they all look ridiculous and only more so the longer this drags on. It's absolutely embarrassing that these are the people that lead us.

Let's not forget that this is a very important subject that is before them at the moment too!

As I've stated several times. The dippers and conservatives went way over the top on his. Ambrose's initial response, comparing him to China was asinine. The next day she had a far more reasoned and measured response. By getting in the mud with the liberals the opposition really screwed their chance to take the high road and make Trudeau look completely terrible.

What he did was indefensible. Period. But we aren't debating that, thanks to the opposition's total overreaction.
