Hi all, below I have linked for you a compilation video of Olly's greatest moments in Game of Thrones. Plucky, headstrong, and everyone's favorite little brother, there are many great moments to reminisce.
That is a very strong word to use for a character hated by so many!
So two outsiders found a whole bunch of accelerant, snuck into an important building alone in the middle of the khalesaar (sp?) unseen, doused it, snuck back out, and yet were awestruck when Danaerys walked out alive. And all of that happened offscreen.
Or maybe it was just the young widow and Dany that did it, just speculation that's all.

I don't get this hate towards Olly.
The kid witnessed his whole village get raped and murdered, including his own parents. When he sought refuge at the wall, the lord commander allowed free passage to the same people who did all of the killing and raping to Olly's village. That aint right
10/10, would stab Jon Snow in the heart again

That's the beauty of this show, Olly was no doubt totally right in his actions and feelings of betrayal by Jon's actions. Yet the way it all gets framed we hate Olly and don't mind him hanging in the end.
Then you have Jaime Lannister, incestual, kingslaying, pushes kids out of towers without even a moments hesitation, and the show has turned him into a sympathetic character to most viewers.
I don't know, all I remember is when the big mean Thenn guy grabbed Olly he told him he was gonna eat his parents (and possibly rape them) in front of him.

Yeah but did you see the stinkeye he spent the past year and a half giving Jon? His parents probably welcomed the release of death to be free of their miserable little kid, imo.

Don't forget eaten. They got killed by Thenns, so raped while being cannibalized and then murdered.
Yeah, all of that was done by the Thenns that never came through the wall. So technically Olly is not only annoying but an ignorant Xenophobe that classifies anything living North of the Wall as 'Evil.'

I'm pretty sure Ygritte killed his dad actually. It's been a while since I watched that episode, but I think the scene where Olly kills her is really similar to the scene where she kills his dad. I'll have to go back and re-watch them though.

Pretty sure Olly wasn't all caught up on the lineages and tribes of the wildlings...

There was some Thenns. A group of them meet up with Tormund and Ygritte's group to attack the south gate of Castle Black.

I think a flammable substance would have had an odor that would have been noticed by someone. Dany is one of the most magical creatures in the GoT world, maybe she just assumed the flames would bend to her will.
There wouldn't necessarily be a detectable odor if they covered the outside of the building with something like kerosene. Particularly if you were already in a hut filled with large karosene lamps. The flames seemed to pick up speed dramatically as the reached the walls of the structure.
