there haven't been a lot of "I thought it was a done deal"-sagas about defenders, but in midfield and up front it's looking like a great team.
Hazard --- Ronaldinho --- Lucas Moura
Vidal --- Thiago --- Sanches

Why are Barca and Madrid so dominant? TV money and ease of monetization.
Perez, as much as he can't really build a team, built the brand and made them ridiculously wealthy. But those two clubs are the richest in the world and still fully member owned. And now Atletico has richer owners and are starting to make the league more competitive.
The problem with the German system is once that tilt has happened, towards Bayern in this case, it can never go back. Other teams will occassionally win, but it's just blips. I dunno, I appreciate the sentiment, but it's not leading to a very good league.
|
Is it a case of never being able to achieve a balance or that achieving a balance will take time? Inequality is not an inherent problem of the current German system but one that was inherited from past systems. The financial fairplay regulations do prevent clubs from rapidly closing the gap between Bayern and themselves but this is seen as unsustainable and a cause of supporter alienation.
The current German system only allows you to chip away at the advantage held by Bayern but I reckon the supporters of Dortmund are much happier than those at Return on Investment clubs like Arsenal and Sold My Soul clubs like Leeds and Portsmouth. Also, the financial regulations can be tinkered with like the invisible hand no?

Clattenburg to ref the final.
Wonder will he overreact to his fiasco at SB and send someone off early?

he's doing the FA Cup final too
I don't think he will, I think he handled that game well
all the red card stuff was off the ball sort of stuff, the only tackle that he should have sent off was a 2nd yellow on Dier

All of the eggs are in the basket now. Do or die, all or nothing. I'll shortly be heading to the pub for this one.
I cant help but say that I'm excited one way or the other. This is basically what I was calling on Rodgers' head for, not taking the Europa seriously enough when winning it gets you into the Champion's League.
Now if only winning the Europa bumped the 4th place PL team out.
At the end of the day it will be good for Liverpool, if they win they get CL football next season and that changes the whole off-season game plan and I hope they're ready and can handle that both in terms of work and money.
If they lose they'll be out of Europe entirely which will suck, but it will allow them to concentrate on the League and getting back into the CL and who knows...maybe ze German can even vin it!

Because UEFA knows that its after tax season so I can take a random Wednesday off to go sit in a pub in the middle of the day and watch it.
And UEFA takes bribes.

That's a hell of an after half response by Sevilla.

Great goal by Coke. Should be a chaotic final 30 minutes as Liverpool chase the tie.
