My vote goes to Jake Allen, who for some reason is not in the poll.

Picked Reimer. No acquisition cost. The other guys will cost more than the Flames should be willing to pay.

MAF. Not super keen on the contract, but his presence and leadership would be a great addition.

Oh, and he is good at stopping pucks too...

I think signing Reimer is ano brainier. Free asset, shouldn't be too hard on the cap, best situation for him too. However, they should still try and acquire a young guy like Allen, Pickard, Vasilevsky, etc. Maybe the one that is cheapest to acquire.

Amy combination of Reimer and a young goalie is the way the Flames should go.

Hiller/Ramo made 8M and if his demands are that high that means he had another season as a top 5 goalie

who wants that

I'm very high on Mrazek.... he's young and one of the best potential out there.

It's a bit odd that Mrazek is in the poll when all the reports have Detroit trying to move Howard, yet there is no Anderson, who is clearly going to get traded this summer, though more likely to the east.

Anderson is my top choice. Fleury would be my second choice but I think the acquisition cost would be crazy. Then Bishop #3, I'm not 100% sold on him but I do think he's a decent option. The UFA status is not a good thing unless it means he's cheap to acquire. He is going to ask for way too much money, and there's a good chance he'll want to test the market.

I'm kinda shocked at the amount of votes Reimer is getting. That guy is barely better than our tandem was last year. I assume people are blinded by his numbers on a top 4 team?

I will not be happy if thats who we end up with. Ugh.

His numbers in TOR are actually quite good if you think TOR isn't the best team these past few years. I think he'd be a substantial upgrade on Ramo and light years ahead of Hiller.

No.

I think people are impressed that despite the fact that he previously played on a bottom 5 team (my ####ty team) that has been well and truly up there in terms of giving up the most scoring chances 5-on-5 and some of the most dangerous scoring chances in the entire NHL, he still managed to put up rather impressive numbers under those circumstances before getting traded to SJ.

Throwing an idea out there, but the Blue Jackets appear to have a good young goalie in Korpisalo and a couple of near NHL ready goalie prospects as well, and they are stuck with a terrible contract to Bobrovsky ($7.5 AAV for 4 more years).

Would you be willing to take that Bobrovsky contract on if it came with the 3rd Overall Pick? Say in exchange for the 6th overall and Backlund?

Flames gamble on Bobrovsky and hope he can find his Vezina form, but also take on the risk of a possible buyout. Reward is obviously the 3rd overall.

Blue Jackets, unload a terrible contract, pick up a quality centreman (which they are apparently in the market for), and with the 6th overall pick, maybe allows them to draft one of the top defensemen, an area where they appear a little weak in.

Default (Potentially) Available Goalies: Let's rank 'em

I'll throw out a name that hasn't been mentioned yet:

What about Philipp Grubauer?

Still young (24) and falls into the Vasilevski category of young guys with low experience, but has some really good stats.

Better on paper than other potentially available guys like Vasilevski, Allen, and Mrazek (as well as not available guys like Helle, Gibson, and Jones).

Likely very low cost since Holtby isn't going anywhere anytime soon, cheap contract, good numbers. Could be a steal.

Picked Bishop simply because he is by far the best goalie on that list.

With that being said, it may come down to the best available goalie within a certain cost. Maybe it will be Fleury. Maybe it will just be Reimer. It is difficult to say who is going to go for what in the off-season, so I am not getting my hopes up too far. There are a tonne of interesting names not mentioned in this poll too, so I am sure the Flames will be able to find a nice upgrade (or two) without spending too many assets or giving someone too long of a term.

Given that Andersen is a member of a divisional rival while Fleury is coming from the East I actually think the price to acquire either will be about the same. My first choice is Reimer because he is a good goalie and won't cost an asset to sign. I would be fine with MAF if the price is right. I don't want Andersen though, I have no idea why, just a gut thing but to me he screams Roman Turek.

No way does STL keep Elliot and trade Allen. I honestly think that suggestion is ridiculous.

Mind you, I'm also the guy that forgot to put Andersen in the poll, so...

I went with Reimer, mostly because hes the top UFA goalie this year, imo.

I worry about Bishop because hes a UFA after next year, if we were to trade for him, id want an extension already set up.

Andersen is my trade favourite, otherwise Reimer is probably my ideal due to lack of assets spent to acquire.

I'd be surprised if they trade either this summer. This summer isn't the pressure point and having both of them makes STL better contenders next year. Is the idea that they trade the goalie that helps them to the West finals or Stanley Cup less ridiculous than the idea of trading Allen? I think the idea that they trade Elliott this summer is equally if not more ridiculous.
