He sure has been playing well. The Penguins have out shot the Lightning 38-21 after sixty minutes (16-6 in the third period).

Nick Bonino / Tyler Johnson.
And just like that it's Crosby after an obvious missed penalty on Johnson.

That was fast. Crosby, and the Pens, needed that one.

Don Cherry is going to go ballistic because the shot was deflected by him.

Terrible pinch by Stralman led to that 3 on 1. That was him probably showing his rustiness.

CBC can STFU about the Marlies...since when do we talk about AHL games during the intermission of the eastern finals
Pens obviously deserved that game TB is lucky it was close

Because they're the only Canadian team in any playoffs. And because it's the Leafs. Why does that upset people?

If the pens got called on a couple blatant penalties in the first, I think the flow may have been the same but the chances would be much closer.
When TB is getting called for everything but plays like where the Pens Dman goes to grab the puck out of the air but ends up punching the TB forward in the face.. That's a penalty.. Stuff like that happened all game. TB got called on all of it and pitss got away with it.
When you spend a fair portion of the game penalty killing.. Shots are going to be lopsided.

The refs let them play, I hate games where its just one powerplay after another alternating between the teams, this was a great game!
"Well if they had some powerplays..."
So what? You've got to win the game 5on5.

The reffing blows, has all year. I thought Tampa Bay got away with a tonne of interference, cross-checks and holds. Didn't think the interference at the end of the game was that big a deal other than a goal was scored. Play happens a few dozen times a game without being called.
It's a good series, Tampa Bay is one resilient team. I don't like them but give them a lot of credit.

Which shot?
If Don Cherry coached in today's NHL his team would give up 70 shots per night. Of course defensemen have to try and block shots with their sticks and yes once in awhile one deflects and fools the goalie but that's ok since they block about 20 others.

I disagree. I hate obstruction and I hate the "let them play" sentiment. Letting them play is speak for "anything goes" and hockey has rules for a reason as it becomes less entertaining the more teams break the rules and it's an equalizer for lesser talented players/teams. It leads to low scoring games with little flow or lead changes. After a spirited first period the game kind of grinded to a halt. Players adjust and it's just a matter of the officials setting the tone early.
