Annnnd he still wins anyway. Just an unstoppable machine when he's dialed in.

That was indeed some sublime tennis between Joker and Kei. I think Murray has a big advantage in tomorrow's final as he barely broke a sweat against Pouille.

Shapovalov lost in 1st round qualifying of the Sestre Challenger (Diez is in the main draw as 7th seed)
I guess he's going full pro and skipping french open juniors maybe. (not sure how that all works). Augur Aliassime is also signed up for futures this week

Murray just defeated Joker in straight sets (6-3, 6-3) to win the Italian Open.

Came across this ESPN feature, polling 31 players anonymously, on a number of things:
http://espn.go.com/espn/feature/stor...-roger-federer
On the Canadian front, Milos is recognized as underrated, while Genie comes second in the diva category. Most think Sharapova should received a one year ban for the failed drug test.

First major he's missed in 16 years.

I'm guessing if it were Wimbledon he'd be playing, but even fully healthy at the French he's probably is QF or SF at best. Save the energy and health to fully focus on the grass/hard summer season.

I love that there is a tourney in Samarkand. Ancient trade post on the Silk Road.

There are tennis tournaments everywhere, in the most remote of places in the world. If you're starting out you have to go everywhere and it probably costs a lot.
UPDATE!
Diez lost in first round in Mestre, Italy (Challenger)
Dancevic (top seed) into the quarterfinals in Brcko, Bosnia (futures)
Auger-Aliassime into the quarterfinals in Vic, Spain (futures) (beat the #2 seed already)
Troutman can look up these towns

Is Samarkand featured in some old Keats poem or something? Why does that name seem super familiar?

at first I figured nobody would be even close to 65 consecutive majors, but I read Deliciano Lopez of all people is at 56...if he's really lucky he might challenge the ironman streak in 2018?
this is tough as a Fedfan, cause this time it kind of feels like the beginning of the end. I had the same feeling when Lemieux got older and everyone knew he still had tons of game but the body just didn't want to take the beating anymore. I'm just glad I got the chance to chase him all over the continent the past few years and see the magic up close.
hurry up Felix, a void might be opening up in the next couple of years and I'm picking you to fill it...

French Open draw is out. Pospisil gets Berdych in the first round. Top seed in Milos section is Cilic so I would think Milos should get to the QFs, and he's in Stan's quarter so chance for a SF run. Nadal-Djokovic would be a semi as well. Genie drew Laura Siegemund, with Bacsinszky as the second round opponent so her draw is decent to maybe win a few rounds and then its women's tennis so who knows?
