Our 3 year old daughter donated $5 yesterday because she didn't want the people in Fort Mcmurray to be sad. Proud Dad moment that choked me up.

I would hope that the main plant at the SAGD operations would be far enough from the trees to be safe. The flowlines to and from the wellpads would be at risk. I work at a site that is under construction 50k south of Fort Mac on the 63 and we have shut down our site and evacuated all the workers.

Canadian Red Cross says 29 million dollars has been raised for #ymmfire relief. Ottawa will match these funds.

I will be in Fort Mac as soon as possible. Right now we will let first responders & officials do their work, with our full support.
I can kind of see why he isn't going to Fort Mac currently but is he at least going to visit evacuees in Edmonton and Calgary?
I have been quite impressed with our Premier during this awful event.

I don't know, seems like he couldn't do anything right, hard to hit the sweet spot of peoples expectations.

Agreed, I am actually not a fan of politicians being around in these types of situations unless they need to be.
There is a #### tonne going on and the PM and all his security will only muddy an already filthy mess.

Interesting NASA picture. Sort of looks like a huge amount of the tress around Fort Mac are long gone.... which I would say is a good thing as they can no longer help the fire.
Also show the multiple fronts the firefighters have had to make a stand on to protect the town, it is amazing any buildings made it. Hero's

Looking at Flight Radar right now and there's currently three SuperScoopers in the air around Athasbasca area, coming from Saskatoon. Would Athabasca be a fuel stop before they head up to YMM?

Biggest evacuation in Canadian history and possibly also the biggest loss event ($$ wise) ever? You'd think he'll want to get out here sooner rather than later.
I make fun of my husbands complex about the liberals because he always asks "what would they do if this was happening in Ontario or Quebec?", but in this case it might be a valid question to ask. Would the response be different? Hopefully not.
