Post in the thread if you do donate and encourage other people to do so. Really though, it doesn't matter the amount, just donate something if you can.
Also, it's not just money to get the people safe. Now that they are here in Edmonton, there is going to be a lot of downtime with their kids. I wish we could donate things like Scene points for Cineplex Odeon or stuff like that so the victims can go and escape for a few hours.

West Edmonton Mall is giving free admission on all their attractions today, stuff like that goes along way IMO. My guests will be arriving sometime this afternoon here in Calgary and we're hoping to have some actives planned, some things to distract the two young ones. Hoping we see similar offers from the Calgary Zoo, maybe the Tyrell museum.
I swear I had some book with a bunch of 2for1 passes to a bunch of stuff.
Looks like insurance will cover things somewhat since they were forcefully evacuated. That'll come in handy(for them) as I'm expecting it'll be 3-4 weeks minimum they're here.

Is it me or does the provincial/federal Governments matching donations just seem so god damn weird, that's a corporation thing to do. The Government should probably be putting a bit more thought into the level of aid needed from their end....

I donated $200 yesterday. Come on CP, let's hit up to over $9000!

That webcam looks to be at the old terminal, I wonder how it is looking at the new terminal. I would hope it would be safer as it is much further from the trees.

I find it odd too. The government will be paying more than it's share in other ways I'm sure.

I came across this article, I thought it was worth a share.
https://edwardmcintyre.com/2016/05/0...ing-a-disater/
Basically, if you see a direct need for someone specific, absolutely help them. If not, just donate money, not goods, to the red cross. The goods cause logistical problems, and in the instance of the Slave Lake disaster, a lot of good ended up in a landfill unfortunately.

There's some coupons on this website that might help out: http://calgaryattractions.com/coupons/
Many of them also offer a 10% discount if you have an AMA card.

I donated $1250..roughly the amount I was given during the flood. So it isn't really a donation as much as it is a return. That might be a catchy sentiment for people around Calgary.

Donated via the Red Cross website and the text version
Might be here in Toronto, but Alberta will always be home

Humidity is way up over yesterday. Hopefully they can make some progress today.
It's amazing how far ahead of the fire it is spotting.
