Co-Op has a special little cooler for their Premium Beef as I recall:

Enjoy 100% Alberta Angus beef with no added antibiotics or growth hormones. Range fed, AA grade or better beef, aged for 14 days and Halal approved.

Thanks for the replies. I'm in the west (Signal Hill) and used to go to Bon Ton but now its too far away. Might try co-op.

Next question: Can anyone tell the difference aged or not from a home grilling perspective?

Safeway sells 21 day aged Sterling Silver AAA Beef. It's pretty good stuff.

I think most major chains now have aged sections including that dry aged stuff. Coop, Save-on and the ballin' on a budget loblaws city market stores. I believe Save-On has Canada Prime as well.

I wish that vegan nazi wasn't in the sin bin. Watching him have a nuclear meltdown in this thread would be classic.

You could try dry aging yourself...

Depends on how you cook it. I season my steaks with salt and pepper and I find I can taste the difference between dry aged and not.

So I spoke with a butcher at the Sunterra on Sirocco drive. They offer Sunterra Choice on the shelf but have Sunterra Farms in the back. Sunterra Farms is the higher grade. Put an order in for 1 1/2 inch thick, 28 day aged tenderloins. Grain fed, barley finished, whatever that means.

I'll post how it turns out.

The "Finishing" is what they're fed for the last 3-6 months of their life. I don't recommend beef finished beef...

Co-op actually has 28-day dry aged cuts. They are delicious but very pricey - expect to pay about twice that of a normal non-aged AAA cut.

You can even buy small 28-day dry aged prime rib roasts for about a bazillion dollars.
