Google Drive File Ownership
So I'm having issues with file ownership on our Google Drive account.
I have 100 GB storage, so the way I understand it is if I am the owner of the folder, it always counts against my storage limit and not against the storage limit of the people I share with. That was the big reason I switched away from Dropbox to begin with.
My problem is however if I am the owner of a folder, and someone creates a file in that folder, they are listed as the owner, so it starts counting against their storage limit. Strangely enough, this doesn't always apply, as with other folders where I am the owner, I am always the owner of the file despite someone I am sharing the folder with having placed the file there.
Is there an easier way of handling this outside of making everyone pay for more storage? We use Drive to share 100 MB+ drawing files from our other office. I have 5 people at the 2nd office location that we share with, and each person is using their own Drive account as they use Drive to share other stuff as well with their clients. Obviously the easier solution would be for everyone to pay the $2/month to upgrade, but the whole ownership of files, etc, etc is a nightmare.
Anyone have any experience with this?
