Your first question is reasonable and Eriksson would be interesting for us on a shorter term deal, but I doubt he could be had for that.
Your second point is completly random. What were you thinking about him? I can't believe that anyone would be serious about their concern over losing him at this stage.
|
The first, I think kind of makes sense but Loui might go to a team that is a contender right now and for the second one I apologize, I should have done my homework.

As pointed out, Burke didn't make this trade. The big thing that gives you away is that no Flames fan would/should ever really want to take that trade back. Trading away sven got the Flames a valuable second round pick, you could say that pick was used to either draft one of the 2 good young defenders in the Flames system in Kylington or Andersson or to complete the trade for Hamilton. Sure, sven may have had a mini come back with the nucks but he's still nothing close to what this team needs and has no real place on this team.
The fact that you wish the Flames didn't make such a beneficial trade, the fact that you didn't know who the GM who made said trade was or that you've posted quite a few questionable (to say the least) posts really gives you away as a troll. In some cases like this one, I think trolls do the opposite of what they initially wanted to do. Saying such blatantly obvious remarks actually bring most of the community together to agree on a bunch of posts. But who really knows what the intentions of some are or what goes through their heads when making some of these posts.
As for trades, at this point trading for Loui since he's going to be a UFA and could just walk for nothing. Secondly I don't think he's the kind of player this team needs. He does check a couple of boxes but his injury history comes into question especially if he were to play in the bigger, tougher west. The only trades the Flames should be looking at are to either move up to the top few draft positions or down to acquire more assets, pick up either a proven goalie or really good young goalie with tons of potential or for a younger, bigger scoring RW that they could keep under contract for a while.

He got a couple concussions 3 years ago that kept him out 20 games. Outside of that single season he has not had injuries. He also played in the West for most of his career...

Yes but he's 30 and will likely want a longer contract and he doesn't really play a bigger game like this team needs. I'm sure he'd be better than anything that's played on the RW in the past few years but IMO I think there are better fits.

I see Eriksson being a good fit in Detroit, especially with Datsyuk going - they need a smart 200 foot player with offensive upside to try and replace what Pavel brought... he definitely won't do that but he can bring some skill to their line-up and would look good on a line with Larkin.

Don't worry about it so much, mistakes happen. I didn't think you were trolling just a little confused. This is a public forum you don't need to ask forgiveness, being a public forum and all mistakes are inevitable. Just don't push too hard when someone contradicts you, maybe they're right.
Ease off Poe this isn't a competition, how are people going to want to join in on the conversation if you crucify them for mistakes?

It's just that some of the things that this poster has said are questionable to say the least and then really doesn't defend why they even made the statement. Par hasn't said why they wish Sven was still here, just made a comment that was a mistake and apologized for the mistake but hasn't really defended the reasoning to the original comment.
"I wish Burke didn't trade Sven" was said and then only said sorry, I thought it was Burke. Hasn't said why they wish sven was still here.
There there are the other comments made, already talking about tanking next season? Trading this first for a goalie and there's more I got tired of looking up. If Par is just a normal poster they should be more open and clear but at the same time be realistic and explain the reasoning behind their posts. These posts just follow the same patterns as others that have shown up and said things like "trade Gaudreau, Monahan and Bennett for the first overall" or things like that.

Some posters post differently, if it bothers you that much then be more constructive. Not everyone is super knowledgeable; I'll admit I didn't know nearly as much as I do now before lurking around on CP. He's obviously new here

In a weird twist of fate, Edmonton and Calgary right now make for pretty good trading partners. If Flames were to trade Wideman and their 6th for Edmonton's 4th, it kind of makes sense for both sides. Edmonton gets a right handed dman with offensive upside, and still get to draft the dman they want. Flames move up to fourth to take Dubois or Tkachuk. Too bad both teams probably aren't looking to do each other a favour, but who knows. Maybe Treliving and Chiarelli can work something out.

The funny thing is that trading Wideman to Edmonton would greatly improve both teams' defences.

I don't think the Oilers will be interested in 1 year of Wideman, especially if he needs to be protected with his NMC in an expansion draft.
6th and a D prospect might make more sense.

I love how people act like a player is an albatross whose cap hit exceeds their contribution and somehow that is supposed to be attractive to another team. I guess that is why the armchair GM position pays so poorly

Meh, I don't think Wideman's contract is an albatross because he only has one year left. If anything, I can see him getting a decent return at the trade deadline as a rental. If Flames keep him until then, I wouldn't care. Just thought because Oilers will do anything possible to be competitive next year and make a play off push for their inaugural new arena debut, Wideman with his one year left made sense for them.
