Not to derail the thread but at this rate I wonder if we could feasibly end up trading Dallas' first round pick back to them for Nichushkin, lol. People were joking before, but it looks more realistic by the day!

Romanuk along with Mike Johnson and David Amber will be doing the first and fourth games of this series on the CBC. Games two and three will be on Sportsnet and will simulcast the NBC/NBCSN announcers with John Forslund and Pierre McGuire who are calling the entire series.

In a non-salary cap NHL, I would have been fine keeping Russell. That said, BT fetched a fine return for Kris which I hope gets even sweeter with a Stars series win over the Blues.

CBC feed crapping out so they switched to the NBCSN one, funny how much better the picture quality is for NBC when they were switching back and forth.

However the atmosphere dropped off a cliff. Great crowd noise on CBC tonight.

Never got the hate for this guy. He's not outstanding by any means but I don't mind him.

He still doesn't pronounce Ferland or Bouma properly. Bugs me so much!
He also gets too focused on spouting random stats to actually call the play. Perfect example was during the year when the Flames played in Edmonton. Monahan replaces Backlund on the PP and is about to take the faceoff. Romanuk goes off about how that's too bad for the Flames because Backlund is our best PP faceoff man statistically while Monahan struggled or something, meanwhile 5 seconds earlier Monahan has already won the faceoff.
I find he doesn't describe the play well either, just a few minutes ago in this game he said "Here's Benn... Here's Benn! Ohhhhhhh". Just awkward to listen to.
To give him credit, he nailed the Gaudreau tying goal vs Anaheim in game 3. "Deft, delicate, deadly!"

Elliot pissed at Bouwmeester about trying to play net on the first goal.
Hahaha, oh Jay... Nobody likes you.

Except we don't really know that. It's what Johnson said but I'm pretty sure he has no idea what he's talking about. Jbo was nowhere near Elliot. He didn't block him or even touch him. Elliot was probably pissed that he made a clumsy save, gave up a huge rebound and was generally sloppy all period.
Same with his stupid assumption about Spezza and the stick twirl.

Hahaha, how does the ref lose sight of that? He's looking right where the puck is sitting behind the net and still blows it.
