News flash...you have to score!
They did win a lot of shootouts this season. Hard to break habits I guess.

Luongo was already over and in position, he just misses it with his glove. It doesn't go top corner either, off the bar middle of the net it looks like.

Good lord, have we really gotten to that point where THAT is considered a should-have-stopped-it? Those poor goalies. He's a bit slow in getting over but that isn't a gaffe.

Makes it worse when you are only running 3 lines vs the islanders 4

Meant to be a response to CPF

Just a reminder, this is like Matheson's 7th NHL game. Kid has solid brass ones I tell you. Pretty courageous play at the blue line with the game on the line.

It wasn't top shelf as you suggested.

Okay, so given that Luongo got his glove on that Quine shot, are people going to cut him a break yet?

How many 40+ save performances has he had in this series?

Any idea why Hudler had 8 minutes of ice time. Has he really been that bad? The rest of the team looks gassed.

Gotta say, this is massively improved by watching the NBC feed.

Just have to say again, Hamonic is an exceptional defenseman. Whoever gets him in a trade will be very lucky.

I think it's pretty stupid that players can try and sneak off the ice on icing calls. The refs always catch them and it is clearly just a stalling tactic. It should be if they try that they get a delay of game penalty.

Good plan. What's the 2OT drink tonight? I'm deciding between Glenmorangie Signet, El Dorado 25, Ron Millonario XO or a White Russian... maybe the caucasian for now and save the real stuff for if this goes to 3.

The impending threat of an expansion draft is such an interesting wrinkle.

Without it, I'd love for the Flames to go after Hamonic. Now it just wouldn't make sense unless we're willing to do the protect 8 skaters option, or make a trade with the expansion team not to select our 4th defenceman.

The teams he was interested in going to to be close to home were limited to begin with, this only makes the list shorter. Vancouver and Edmonton should be all over the Islanders as they could easily make it work for an expansion since they have such turds on D.
