Sometime they will but limping into game 7 after blowing a 3 - 1 series lead and 3 - 1 lead in game 6 is not telling of a team that has exercised their demons.

It's no wonder Tarasenko is being benched at times. He's got 14 goals in 19 career playoff games and is still a - player.

He's a liability at times and one of the best coaches in NHL history sees that.

Watching the Blackhawks is just a dandy, they never panic, never give up and they just keep coming, what can the Flames do, if they want to be like the Blackhawks?

Get all their players.

Seriously though, I really want to hate the Hawks, but I just have to respect their will and tenacity. Have to imagine they pull through here.

yeah, but not sure how that's all on Hitch?

its like watching SJ when LA came back on them; the players couldn't put together three passes, lost all their structure and could not match Chicago's intensity...but SJ were able to compose themselves and came back...

Someone, anyone on St.L needed to step up. A line needed to dominate their shift. No one did. Tarasenko, for example, needed to put his words where his mouth was by putting out a dominant shift, a game changing play.... They needed someone to pull the "iggy shift" in TB. But no one did.

That's on the players as much as Hitchcock.

I've given up. After winning game 4, I thought the Blues couldn't possibly screw this up ... then yesterday they go up 3-1 in the first, and again, I think "they can't possibly screw this up again". At this point, I'm not even sure what's more impressive: the Hawks' ability to come back again and again, or the Blues' ability to screw it up again and again.

Sure hope the Blues can finally do it in game 7, but I'm not holding my breath.

It must be spring! Oilers are golfing and the Blues are blowing another big lead in the first round of the playoffs.

Yet he has the second best plus minus in the playoffs of any forward on their team behind the juggernaut that is Berglund. What would one of the best coaches do in that situation, only play one forward?

That's on the players as much as Hitchcock.
Without a doubt this is on the players just as much, if not more than the coach. Really of all teams they should have been going after a guy like Andrew Ladd at the traded deadline as they seem to lack that leadership as you say nobody ever steps up at critical moments of the playoffs. Sharks lacked this for years as have the Blues. The Sharks changed leaders while the Blues are still running with the guys that have never been able to climb the mountain. They have added guys like Stastny and Bouwmeester over the years but those guys aren't going to be clutch in the playoffs and carry a team in the playoffs. They need a shakeup in their core as all they have build is a great regular season team not a true cup contender.

What a game, seriously St. Louis, if you get the Blackhawks on their knees with a gun to the back of their head you pull the trigger twice otherwise they're going to get up and kill you.

Love them or hate them you have to respect the Blackhawks. Holy crap what a team.

As for Tarasenko, he has a right to be choked with his teammates and his coach but you've got to shut that crap down immediately. Do you think having one of your star players flipping out at everyone is helpful after your team blows a 3-1 series lead after having a 3-1 lead in an elimination game?

agreed on Ladd for sure... and SJ: Joe Thornton is a great player, but sometimes you need a guy that leads vocally as well as "by example". Pavelski is that kind of guy. St.Louis? I am not sure yet... a guy like Backes should be stepping up to be honest. Tarasenko too if he's going to call out Hitchcock - prove it. Doesn't mean you have to score, but matching Chicago's intensity is most certainly what they have to do...

they need guys that hate to lose more then they like to win. Chicago has that in spades. That's why they win Cups.

St.Louis needs to slay the demons of their past and guys like Backes, Tarasenko, Schwartz, Pietreangelo need to tap into that will and step on Chicago's throat the next time they have that shot.

otherwise, major changes will happen, and Hitchcock's head (a little unfairly imo) will probably be the first head to roll

Watching this series closely really brings back some old Bouwmeester thoughts.

He's not as bad as you think he is, but not as good as he should be. Really a frustrating boring hockey player to watch.

Not a great trade (come on Poirier) but I'm glad he's no longer a Flame.

Great skater but I don't think he sees the ice well, or maybe he doesn't play well with pressure when he can't see the whole ice in front of him?

Pretty much nailed my problem with Bouwmeester. Good, bad, what ever. I just don't like the way he plays.

Jay Bouwmeester is Dion Phaneuf without the offense, physical play or stereo sense. On paper, fine player. If he's on your team, you ain't winnin' nothin'.
