Yeah, Calgary United is awesome. That's the only cab company I use for bookings unless I'm coming from the airport, where I have no choice.

Why? I generally use Checker from the airport, if for no other reason than to spite Associated. Plus, less chance of getting stuck with no cab waiting when you hit the peak demand times.

How do you use Checker if last I heard they weren't allowed at the airport.

Doesn't associated have exclusive airport pickup because they have a deal with the airport authority?

THis is what the airport website says:

Effective June 7, 2010, Associated Cab Ltd. will provide the on-demand service at Calgary International Airport. If you wish to utilize another taxi company please make arrangements through them directly.

Regarding the shareholders not being able to sell their shares, that's pretty common for a pre-IPO Silicon Valley companies.

There usually are designated times for secondary sales but you can't sell your shares whenever you want.

The Mayor is in Boston and took a ride in a Lyft vehicle with a driver who streams his rides on Periscope. During the ride, they discussed Uber and how they're the "worst people in the world to deal with" because their CEO is a "dick".

“They are honestly the worst people in the world to deal with. I have never dealt with people like this before,” Nenshi said.

“I was at a conference and I met Travis (Kalanick) the CEO and I was like, ‘Oh, it’s because you’re a dick and this has percolated (through) the entire organization.’”

He also claims the city had people with criminal records apply to be Uber drivers to test their background check system.

“We’re no fools, so we sent people to sign up to be Uber drivers to see if they could get through the background check,” Nenshi said Thursday during the live broadcast, a copy of which was obtained by Postmedia. “How we found registered sex offenders, I don’t want to know, and people with convictions for violent crimes, I don’t want to know why we know those people,” he continued. “I just don’t want to know, nobody will even tell me and I don’t want to know, but they all made it through Uber’s theoretical background screening.”

Before all the comments come about how much of a blow hard Nenshi is, this full, 27 minute video, is amazing. Just extremely candid about so much stuff. Uber, Lyft, The US election.

I bet he would if he could. He's the first Mayor in a long time that actually cares about this city and would do anything in his power for the greater good of Calgary even if the entire city is against it. Maybe some aren't used to a politician who actually wants the best for their city?

He talks about using criminals to apply for Uber licenses, that to me is embarrassing, and conduct outside of being any kind of mayor.

I know you guys want to give him a pass for whatever reason, but to me, he made an ass out of himself and the office that he occupies.

Nenshi is no different than Drumph, getting in petty online squabbles with people, it's an embarrassment to this city. He acts more like a reality celebrity than a respectable member and leader of our city.
