Stars Fan's translation of Val Nichushkin interview in Russian. http://www.sport-express.ru/hockey/nhl/reviews/982670/
Quote:

"In this interview, Nichushkin talks about :

- Not getting enough ice time (which he blames for his lack of production)
- The Stars trainers/doctors, whom he criticizes for not diagnosing his hip injury correctly for a month - he had to get a second opinion
to get the recommendation for the surgery
- Distrusting the coaches
- Not getting to play with Benn and Seguin enough
- Not being invited to dinner with Ruff this season and how he doesn't talk to Ruff and only talks to Nill
- the goalies not catching the puck (this one might be a poor assumption on my part as I try to figure out what Google translate is telling me)
- Maybe not wanting to sign another deal with the Stars because he doesn't trust the coaches
- Would consider going to the KHL since the Stars own his NHL rights
- Getting put on the 4th line after working hard during the all-star break"

Very intriquing, if translated properly. Looks like he could be on the trading block come draft time, butis he Sven 2.0?
From his draft until about 1/2 hr ago, I thought he was the Flames missing link on RW. Not as sure anymore, but if the price is right,
I still make the trade. Perhaps we could use their, now our, 1st round pick (here's hoping) as part of a package. What would his aquisition cost be?

Flames perfect summer: Draft 1-3, trade Wideman/sign Nak, aquire Nichushkin and add a goalie - Bishop, Andersen or Elliott. That's a Bingo. |
Being Sven 2.0 might not be all bad. I think a change of scenery did wonders for Sven. Having a 2nd NHL organization tell you pretty much the same things the first did forces you to re-evaluate your self entitled opinion.
Sometimes a trade = wake-up call a player needs.

Step 1: Dallas wins two playoff rounds, giving the Flames another 1stStep 2: Calgary trades that pick back + add-ons for Nichushkin
 Step 3: Profit

Didn't the Preds and Flyers do something like that a few years ago? I think the Flyers got a 1st from them for Forsberg and then traded it back for Hartnell or something like that.
 EDIT: yeah

Feb 2007: PHI trades Forsberg to NSH for Parent, Upshall, a 1st and a 3rd
Jun 2007: PHI trades the 1st back to NSH for Hartnell and Timonen

Well if it happens I will definitely be on board. The only worry I have is his attitude. Always earned never given may not be to his liking.

Don't worry. That comes and goes, as it suits Hartley.

Wow, so essentially Philadelphia traded Forsberg for Parent, Upshall, Hartnell, Timonen, and a 3rd round pick. Not a bad haul for a broken and aging Peter Forsberg.

Man, it used to be such a sellers market.

^Both Timmonen and Hartnell were set to be UFAs. They were not re-signing with Preds. So it was their rights for a 1st.
The trade flopped for Nashville when they sucked in the playoffs as usual. Forsberg was still damn good then.

Yup. I believe the Preds couldn't fit them under their internal cap.

Wow. Does "leader" mean something different in Russian? The guy that buys the first round, perhaps?

Even that seems like a stretch. Just not a fan, I guess.

As soon as I read Varlamov, I was thinking he asked for a trade or something happened and he was leaving the Avs. I think he'd be a pretty good goalie to have. I don't think they mean Radulov will have a letter on his shirt kind of leader but more that he's going to help kick the team up a notch or something.

Yeah that organization is kind of a mess. They have failed their way into drafting some very good forwards but are kind of squandering them by surrounding them with mediocrity from support players to coaches and management.
