Bouwmeester is the Patrick Bateman of the NHL. There is the idea of Bouwmeester, some kind of abstraction. You see him and think he has the appearance of an NHL'er, but he's just ... not ... there.

He's like a guy that was just way too good at hockey to not play it professionally, but he just doesn't really care to do it. It's just a job.
