No thanks. Simmonds is a dirt bag who takes bad penalties at the worst time possible.
Seriously? If Simmonds was available there would be 29 teams lining up. He is an extremely valuable player. Not many guys can get thirty goals playing the way he does

Agreed, and signed through the 2019 season with a very reasonable cap hit of 3,975,000. If he ever made it to the open market, BT should be picking up the phone.
Haha, a poster on Reddit turned Game 3 into a pretty believable Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia script for the opening scene:
NSFW!
[7:08 PM]
[On a Monday]
[Philadelphia, PA]
Dennis: Oh ####, check out these awesome wristbands.
Mac: Oh nice, I'm gonna whip 'em at those jabroni refs.
Dee: What?! No. Why would you do that?
Mac: Dee, this is a Flyers game. That means we get free rein to throw as much #### at people as we want.
Dee: That is absolutely not what that means.
Charlie: [Charlie examines one of the wristbands and practices a throwing motion with it] I dunno, Dee, I feel like Mac's got a point. I mean why else would they give us stuff to throw.
Dee: It's not for you to throw!
[Lights dim for the intro]
Mac: I'm still gonna throw mine.
Dennis: C'mon man, you're gonna get us kicked out.
Frank: belches [wide shot showing a dozen empty beer cups littered around Frank] Dennis, Deandra. Throwing things is Philly tradition.
Dee: It's only tradition for drunken #######s that give the city a bad name!
Announcer: ...I say 'Thank you Mr. Snider'. I ask you to join us in a moment of silence.
Mac: [whispering] Fine Dee, I've got a better idea anyway...
[Silence begins]
Mac: [Shouting] #### THE PENS!
Dennis: [Shouting] HAHAHA WOO! [whispering] Oh dude, yes that was great.
[Silence ends]
Dee: What the hell was that!?
Mac: Shut up Dee
Dennis: Yeah, what are you mad cause they're a flightless bird too?
Dee: What? No we're not even playing the Penguins so it doesn't make any sense.
Mac: #### THE PENS, DEE!
Dee: Fine! Jesus. At least you idiots didn't throw anything.

Wayne Simmonds is a beast. He has always been consistent with his edgey play. But he's also been consistent in producing points.
One man's dirt-bag type player is another man's heart and soul-type player.
Simmonds is a perfect fit for the Flames. Would be a great leader for the kids who play with an edge also ( Hathaway, Ferland, Grant, etc)
And would also be an ideal linemate for JG and SM as he wouldn't put up with other players taking liberties. Wayne Simmonds doesn't take other teams $#!+, that maybe why some people think he takes bad penalties.

Exactly this. Simmonds plays with edge, grit, sandpaper, but plays with integrity and has 1st line skill, and is only 27. I would absolutely LOVE to have him on our team (and so would all 29 other clubs). He is making $4million bucks per, and if Brad goes for gold in the next couple years, he'll have to spring for a guy like Simmonds to play RW. In my opinion, he's an upgrade over a $4million Hudler.
Plus it would be awesome to taunt Oiler fans that our Wayne is better than theirs and watch think get into a tizzy.

Agreed. Wayne Simmonds is pretty much what you want Bennett to eventually turn out to be, albeit with more skill. One of those guys who's got grit, but can still produce for you.
