Bachelor Party in Whistler
Cp,
One of our good friends is getting himself hitched in August, and of course there will be a bachelor party. Our group has decided that for the July long weekend, we will be making the trek from Calgary to Whistler for about 5 days.
As of right now we are meeting up in Van the evening of the 30th, partying the night then getting transportation from Van to Whistler. For accommodations we've booked a villa steps away from Village.
We don't have any concrete plans after that, other than of course booze and fun. Hoping to maybe get some biking in but I'm not the bachelor or the best man and will just be going with the flow.
What I was hoping CP could help us with is what should we do? I've never been to Whistler so I'm not sure what to expect. Any suggestions appreciated.
What bar/'s should we be visiting? I'd like to arrange it so that we don't have to wait in lines, and can be on the "List" to get in.
Entertainment?
Eats?

how do your dates match up to crankworx?
based on videos I have seen of whistler, it seems like thousands of people go to this event

Disc golf.
I don't know the holes in the area, but I'm sure they're there and probably very breath taking. Disc golf is a great semi slow paced activity that's cheap and great for getting to know each other. Good ice breaker if the guys don't know each other very well. Half hike, half game, activity that mixes well with booze.
Those that have never played can easily buy a good starter set for $30 ish with a driver, mid range (use this if you haven't played before, the driver will just curve like crazy if you don't have the technique down, the mid range is more forgiving) and putter.

I have this one and still use these discs on occasion even though I've added more discs. $30 is a good price for it. Don't forget to write names and phone numbers on the inside of the discs for ID purposes or if it gets lost.
Grab beers and drink them while chucking a few rounds. A plastic bag or cloth bag is more than good enough to keep discs and beers while playing the course.

I wouldn't worry that you are not there for Crankworx or Pemberton - there are tons of awesome things to do in Whistler, and personally I think those events just create crowds that I'd like to avoid.
I've done a few outings with this group: http://tagwhistler.com/ They have pretty much all the activities you would want, ziplines, ropes course, white water rafting, ATV, etc. and I had a good experience both times.

Gotta do the summer bobsleigh. Much different track than here in Calgary.
My friend, bob pilot Chris Spring did the driving there last year I believe. Not sure if he's doing it this year.

LOL, you guys have never been to music festivals before. Any major one looks like that at the end. They have budgets to clean up.
Basically, what happens is the garbage cans become overloaded day 1. Getting out of the festival is a gong show.
I always do my best to clean up, but obviously not everyone does.
I've spoken to the grounds staff about it. Apparently the amount of bottles is so large that the cleanup jobs are actually heavily sought after. They'll get a pretty measly wage, but collect hundreds to thousands of dollars in bottles.
