Never heard that, nor would it mean he has serious attitude issues.

I agree that Cervenka would have been fine if he stayed another year - everything stacked against him that year.
However, I also think that Cervenka wasn't a real fast skater. He is the kind of guy that has the talent to dominate a lesser league, but didn't have the speed to excel in the NHL.
Pribyl, being 2nd in the Czech league in scoring, obviously has some similar talent. But more importantly, he also has NHL speed by the looks of it.

I like how the Flames keep trying with these international free agents. I won't pencil him in just yet, since they rarely pan out in the NHL.
However this guys was drafted, so he's always been considered as promising.

I get a jankowski-ish feel from pribyls story. (story, not equating the players)
It's taken some years to get the strength and skating and confidence to roll with top players and assert himself, but seems like now he has a shot.
Would he potentially be at summer camp?

That was the burn it to the ground season. Tough year to break into the NHL

Don't forget Cervenka's blood clot issues.
I don't think we saw half of what he would be capable of in the NHL.

Yeah, adding a 6'4" centre and a 6'3" RW to the mix will sure change the feel of things this fall (not to mention a certain 6'3" Finnish winger!)

Gotcha, not sure that's something we should worry about. As with Cervenka, this is nothing more then adding another body with a shot at improving the club. If it doesn't workout, no worries.

Should be. No NHL or AHL experience, and he's younger than Jooris was in 2014 Young Stars.

If Frolik finds some chemistry with the top line he would hit 40-50 pts. Why would you think Pribyl will get a shot at top-line time?
His teammate at Sparta Praha was Curtis Hamilton.. Hamilton finished his best AHL season with 12 goals 32 pts in 62 games. Got called up for 1 NHL game.
Then he jumped to Sparta Praha and got 13 goals 30 pts in 43 games... Using your logic the Oilers should be looking to see If he has Chemistry with Hall-Drasitl .... he should be good for 30-40 NHL pts.
A journeyman NHLer Sobotka was a ppg player in that league. It would be great if Pribyl turns out to be close to Sobotka.... a hard to play against bottom 6 that can chip in with 20-30 pts.

Don't often agree, but I do in this case. We all want to find a guy that can slot onto that top line, but hoping Pribyl to turn into a top line player that can hang with Monahan and Gaudreau is far too much I think. If he can put up 20-30 points as a bottom 6 player, I'll be happy.

Difference being this is a 23 year old player entering his prime now who has never played in a North American league, so how he performs in pro has YTBD. He is more promising than you give him credit for.
Edit: And also sort of totally outscored this Curtis Hamilton and thus is a poor comparable.

He has as good a chance as anyone to fill the top line rw spot. We don't necessarily need him to score 60 points, but if he can make space and gather the puck for JOHNNY and mony then it could work. Kinda like Patrick maroon for the ducks. Getz and perry did there thing and he helped cycle. Perhaps this guy can play that role for calgary.

Good assessment, and I think it's realistic. I expect Pribyl to start in Stockton and get called up later in the season. He needs to adjust to smaller ice, bigger and faster players, and North American life.

How to we pronounce pribyl? Right now I'm doing it like that Star Trek tribbles pronunciation.
