The Canucks pick would have been 6th overall though, which is a lot better than the 19th pick. But yeah, the rest of the package sucks.

yep the rumors at the time were that it was Reinhart but it came out a few months ago I think that it was Bennett

Very intriquing, if translated properly. Looks like he could be on the trading block come draft time, but is he Sven 2.0?
From his draft until about 1/2 hr ago, I thought he was the Flames missing link on RW. Not as sure anymore, but if the price is right,
I still make the trade. Perhaps we could use their, now our, 1st round pick (here's hoping) as part of a package. What would his aquisition cost be?

Flames perfect summer: Draft 1-3, trade Wideman/sign Nak, aquire Nichushkin and add a goalie - Bishop, Andersen or Elliott. That's a Bingo.

Yeah, article dated March 29th, so a couple weeks ago. Good to hear he changed his stance.

Well, he did have the 5th most ice time amongst forwards for the Stars in their play off game the other night, got 16 and a half minutes. Can't imagine Ruff would play him that much if there were still hard feelings.

His attitude dropped him in the draft IIRC. A scout at the combine said he was the worst interview he heard in years.

or the coach is using him as a whipping boy. It happens, some coaches like giving a young player a rough time to see if he can handle it or just to make the coach feel good. Maybe Nichuskin speaking up made the coach re-evaluate his treatment. I'm not saying either take is the truth just that there could be an alternative.

One way or the other a divorce is coming. Things can't run status quo indefinitely. Similar to Sven, nikushkin can bail once his contract is over. Dallas would be wise to get something while they can, even if it ends up being a second like we got for Sven.
