What if he underwhelms in training camp, or needs some time to adapt to smaller ice? Wouldn't want to just start the guy on the first line if he needs to be playing a few months in the AHL first.
Promise him the opportunity is there, but I wouldn't guarantee anything
Would it be reasonable to think that the NHL team that ends up signing him might want a say in this surgery? Like, would it make sense that the teams in on him would ask him to wait until he signs and then have their own doctors look at him? I mean, I'm sure the Czech doctors are all perfectly fine, just seems like the team would want to monitor it.
Yes, a team is potentially investing millions of dollars into him. They could ask to see his medical records and have their own doctors look at it. They could also advise him to hold off on the surgery and/or tell him who they would prefer does the surgery, but until he signs on the dotted line he really doesn't have to listen to them.
Dean Molberg @fan960boomer
Bob McKenzie reported #Flames among teams hoping to ink 23 yr old Czech fwd Daniel Pribyl. Hearing Flames very much in the mix.
When did McKenzie report this? Is Molberg just regurgitating the original rumor, or did McKenzie come out with a more recent tweet on Pribyl?

Valid concern. Have a few friends who did their MDs in Czechia (then came home as FMGs for residency). Heard many complaints and very few positive things about the standard of care over there. Apparently, their equivalent of the CPSA consists of 4 admin and a half-dozen part-timers. And this is for the whole country.
I think he was just confirming/updating McKenzie's old rumor
I found the timing of it interesting. Sort of out of the blue. I assumed he had heard something positive to suggest that the Flames were closer than they initially were.

That's what I think he's saying. Like "I just heard that rumor from McKenzie is true and Calgary is definitely in the mix"

No comment from CAL, but word is Flames will sign Czech F Daniel Pribyl after that league's playoffs.

Pribyl was a 2011 MON draft pick, but did not sign. He had 45 PTS in 45 GP during season, 11 PTS in 9 playoff games before injury.

I like everyone here has probably never seen the guy play, so who the hell knows. But it cant hurt. Perhaps calgaryboy has some input as hes probably the only person who may have seen him play.
It's always nice to have free agents interested in our team, but I'm sceptical that this (potential) signing will have any significant impact on the team

The complaints I've read about him is that he's not physical at all.
