All this pent up internet rage for BMWs....What happened to the good old days, when we could all agree that Dodge truck drivers were the worst drivers on the planet.

I suggested a reason for that earlier.
There's no controversy surrounding the Infinity driver: The consensus, nearly unanimous, is that he's a dickbag who should lose his license.
There is controversy over whether the BMW drivers were impeding the flow of traffic. Ergo, it generates more discussion.

It seems like no one actually read the full story.
The Infiniti was with the group in the BMW club. After the crazy stunts here they all pulled into the same parking lot - Mr Infiniti was trying to impress the group, apparently. They all yelled at him and called the cops.
There is no passing lane blocker issue in this case

Why would they allow an Infinity to pollute the purity of the BMW club?

He wasn't part of the group itself, just knew some of them and decided to tag along. The groups admins didn't even know who he was until the end of the drive

I feel like everyone's pent up road rage just came flowing out. This just can't be that controversial of an event. The act in question seems pretty straight forward and dealt with.

Exactly, they are all a bunch of ass-hats who think they own a public highway

I know we are just going in circles yet again, but how could you possibly know this?
This thread is a good example of why we have such problems on the roads these days with road rage. Everyone just wants so badly to assume that every other person is an asshat and they don't spend a single second considering if they themselves are driving courteously. And then the minute they feel slighted, the only solution is to go full road rage.

Maybe I'm missing something, but what I saw was the blue BMW slowly passing the white BMW. He had almost passed, when upcoming traffic caused him to slow down, so when the Infiniti came by, both BMWs were beside each other.
At 0:56 of the video, you can see that the blue BMW was close to the car in front of him.

I happen to know a couple of the drivers shown here... specifically, the blue M3 and the white BMW coupe beside it. Katrina (blue M3) was passing the white coupe. There are several cars in front of Katrina, certainly not all of which are BMWs. The Infiniti was someone unknown to the organizers of the cruise (they were headed to Sylvan Lake, so if you have a more efficient route to take than QEII, feel free to start paving it) and had the RCMP called on him by the BMW drivers for his stunt.
For those in the thread parroting "Ermagherd, BMWs were being dicks, left lane hoggers, etc.", the blue M3 was passing the white coupe and leaving sufficient space front and rear before changing back (which is the reasonable thing to do, unless you're going to suggest tailgating or making a close-call lane change is appropriate), and those 'left lane hoggers' were in a queue to pass a slower vehicle ahead in the right hand lane.
I'm the sort who will instantly call out a left-lane camper. That was simply not the case in this situation. Some of the comments here are downright embarrassing.

He can't. See where I refer to downright embarrassing [comments].

I would have thought they might take 1A to Chochran then Hwy 22, up to 54 or 11. Much nicer and enjoyable drive than #2, all paved BTW. Also, get off #2 at 54 west to 781 north, again all paved.
If I was out for the purpose of driving because I like driving my vehicle, #2 would be the last road I took.
PS: that isn't meant to come off snotty

I'd do the same. Nothing wrong with Sylvan as a destination, but QEII isn't a cruise, it's a chore

They're BMW drivers, they can barely figure out left and right signal light directions. I think you're asking too much.
I do drive a BMW though, so if one isn't driving too ######y it's probably me

Didn't take it that way at all. I don't disagree, I really like 1A myself (I used to take the M5 out that way when I went to Banff). But to take a full scenic route to S.L. like you described is almost an extra hour each way. I was invited but never went, so I don't know what else was planned for that day. I'm just saying that as far as time spent on the road to go to an event, QEII is pretty much the default choice.

Not snotty in the least. That area, especially around sunset, is incredibly beautiful.
The drive from Turner Valley up to the 22x a personal favourite. Man I'd love a house in the foothills.

Ehh... I don't have that same conclusion regarding the BMWs in that vid... I saw them as following the flow of traffic. I think at one point in the vid, some stats flickered at the bottom and it showed they were cruising along at around 117 kmph with random traffic up front likely impeding a more "spirited" group drive.
