Default Car makes dangerous pass on Alberta highway

Stupid driving but looks like the BMW enthusiasts were being dicks being in the left and right lanes at similar speeds not allowing anyone to pass.

From the video it looked like there was a vehicle in front of the blue bmw a safe distance away. Not like there was 10 car lengths of space where she could sped up a bit. As for the car to the right of her, I see no problem with that. Slower cars in the left lane following the 110 speed limit, it isnt a passing lane.

That's pretty dangerous indeed.

Here in the UAE we would just obnoxiously flash our brights at the car in the left lane until we approached to 2 feet from their bumper and then pass on the shoulder when it's obvious that car won't move. Much safer.

Way to thread the needle! He had perfectly equal distance on either side, didn't even bang a mirror. Those beamer drivers should have got a dam parade license if they wanted to drive around two wide while real drivers have places to really get too!

The BMW owners were being jackasses, no doubt and that doesn't excuse this guy from being a complete moron and endangering two other drivers.

That's how I drive all the time in Grand Theft Auto. It really makes it a lot easier to get around.

Apparently they were all going on some BMW cruise when the moron in the Infiniti decided to show off. He pulled that stunt and a few passes on the shoulder and was waiting for everyone at the meeting point. The cops were called and people berated him until he left and he was banned from their events. Guess he thought everyone would think it was cool or something.

There was also a walmart truck in the left lane just ahead that they were all waiting to clear the left lane.

I hope the BMW drivers also get tickets for improperly using the passing lane.

What the infiniti did was stupid but its unacceptable for the BMW's to drive like that and given that their is camera evidence should be enforced.

Assuming you're driving half decently and not not barrel rolling your Pegassi Osiris off tunnels or extremely high mountain cliffs

"okay guys, that was a great quarter, being flipped off was up 200%, close calls almost doubled.. But let's discuss how we can truly be the worst drivers on the planet. "

They would have to invite Kia and Hyundai drivers to complete the terrible driver club.

I've driven all over North America, Europe and the Middle East. Now I regularly drive in Louisiana. Albertans aren't bad at driving from my experience. German drivers are excellent, but also very "by the book". So much so that they are willing to cause an accident by their lack of flexibility. Driving in Lebanon on the other hand is like organized chaos, you get behind the wheel, throw the book out the window and just try to get to where you're going without hurting anybody. It surprisingly works very well actually. Alberta, however, is no worse or no better than most jurisdictions in North America. Want to see bad drivers? Come to Louisiana.

I hope that if this incident is investigated, that some of the BMW owners face traffic charges as well. There are likely some other infractions (failure to obey a posted sign etc) that are shown in the video.

Which infractions? I didn't see any.

The BMW drives maybe weren't being super courteous, but that's not illegal. The driver of the Infiniti however should have their license revoked.

When the police investigate, they will investigate fully. Meaning that if there are any witnesses who can make statements against the BMW drivers, then they would be ticketed too for whatever they were doing illegally. And rightly so.
