Or Taylor Hall. Don't know if he knows how to operate one properly.

This team looks terrible. Is every single star player sitting out? When is this tournament? During playoffs?
EDIT: May 6. This is like a notch above the Spengler Cup.

Like usual, players from teams knocked out in the first round will likely join as well

A little disappointing that none of our guys want to represent their country. Of all of them, I wish Hamilton was going.

Why do we need this thread? Team Canada has Hall and McDavid. We don't need anybody else and we are gonna win the whole freaking thing!

All but Hamilton have gone before, and he went to the junior Worlds. They know what the experience is like and chose not to go through it again this year. They obviously feel that it isn't worth going over there for free and possibly suffering an injury that could potentially damage their ability to play hockey professionally. I don't care if they don't go to any of these tournaments, and that includes the World Cup and the Olympics.

Looking at that roster I don't blame them. Heal your injuries, train, enjoy your summer.

I can understand not going because you re banged up. But whats Hamilton's excuse? He wants to focus on next season? What a bs excuse. You have 6 months off for ffs. To me it sounds like he just wants to party like a rock star with his huge contract. I'd figure you would want to gain as much experience as possible to get better as a player.

Not sure where you heard this. If anything, Hamilton will probably be at home with his family.

Does anybody really care about this tournament anymore? I dont think players need to try too hard to think of a reason not to go play in Russia after an 82 game season.

The Tournament is in Russia, I'm sure Gio had some things to say about going over there, even if it is only for a short stay.

If you have 2 Canuck Dmen on the roster, you are in trouble. The forwards are young, but at least intriguing.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

I heard from someone within Hockey Canada that both Girodano and Brodie were asked (Not surprising) and he said Brodie is getting married this summer and wanted to focus on that and family (can't remember the details since we were drinking beers). Now that I think about it I think he said it was Brodie getting married, beers and memory don't mix................this is a dumb post.

We have the World Cup in September, they shouldn't have done the tourny this year. In fact I wouldn't mind if they got rid of it all together. However I understand ppl enjoy it, but you can't expect pro players who play a pretty long grueling season to just head straight away to a tourny that most ppl don't hold in high regard. Hockey takes a toll man, players beed their rest.

I would like the Flames to get accustomed to playing more than 82 games in a season.
Last year ... playing in Prague, Sid Crosby requested to be added to the team after the Penguins were eliminated from the playoffs in 5 games. He has 100 and counting NHL playoff games in his 10 season career. Gio 4

Are you saying that the NHL should cancel the Playoffs? It is asking Doughty too much to play 100 games a year and then be on the World Cup team?
