Default Keith Olbermann receives terrorist threat

Quote:
The Rupert Murdoch-owned newspaper, The New York Post, may have just impeded an FBI investigation into terroristic threats.

I know this because I was a recipient.
Olbermann responds to the NY Post story about the threat sent to him.

Do you mean Olbermann?

It's pretty clear that the conservative wing of the media has it in for Olbermann--who has made the mistake of speaking his mind on political issues rather than robotically reading off White House talking points with news-anchorly confidence. Olbermann's a pretty impressive guy--good on him for standing up for himself.

Can you imagine what would have happened if this was FauxNews and Bill O'Reilly that had received the letter? Man, the military would be on the outskirts of Tehran by now!

More neocon bull**** from a neocon propaganda organ. Their best interest is to shut Olbermann up. People are slowly cluing in to the Bull**** Factor on Faux.

It's amazing to me that people and politicans (obviously just fueling th fire for their own gain) still cry that there is such a liberal bias in the media when stuff like this happens.

The conservatives have done a good job of changing the averages persons (average voters) understanding of media by winning the language and smear war over the last 10-20 years.

What's going to happen when they push the current partisan split even further? Is this country EVER going to be able to come together again, or are we going to see the same red and blue states and 'values' for a long time to come?

A partisan split of that or any other country is far from a new thing and it is far from a conservative thing. Also, the NY Times is as far left as fox news is right.

Man, the Post is such a crappy paper, equivilent to that of the Calgary Sun, if you actually rely on it for anything either than finding out how Britney Spears is treating her baby, you're the moron.

Olbermann is awesome.

The whole point is to basically split the country. Basically now you have Democrats who think Republicans are the most evil people on earth, and Republicans who think Democrats are the most evil people on earth. Meanwhile, the current administration gets to do whatever it pleases because of the division. Republicans will defend them to the death because they will never say that their republican government is wrong, and all Democrats do is say how stupid Republicans and the Bush administration is.

Nothing will get done if the country is divided. People need to learn to overcome the division, which is enhanced through the media, in order to take back their country.

Look on any major news channel at the "debates" between Republicans/Democrats. What it comes down to is a screaming match, and whoever screams louder wins. It's not about debate or the best interests of the people, or representing their consitiuants any more. It's a joke on both sides of the spectrum in my eyes.

It's been argued pretty persuasively that the NY Times represents the "establishment" media--though you're right that their editorial page is at least socially liberal. However, the paper in question here is the NY Post, which is notorious both for being right wing, and for being a total rag.

I tend to disagree, I say the Village Voice is about as left as Faux News is Right

Have to disagreee with that one. NY Times is not nearly on the same scale of partisanship as Fox news.

And while I agree partisanship itself is probably as old as our first systems of government, I feel that in this system, in this country, it is coming to a type of boiling point. There is so much ignorance and hate between the two sides of PEOPLE who falsely label each other left wing tree huggers or right wing neo cons often. And it's the government, mostly the conservative government that is causing this split just for the reason of 'winning'. Winning seats, winning elections, winning contracts. The good of the country seems to be secondary at best. If that weren't true the current government wouldn't have had to change their 'reasons' for going into Iraq three times.

Yes I mean Olbermann.

He has the right to say whatever he wants, as long as its not discriminating, etc, etc.

I admire people who speak their mind....Bill Maher comes to mind. I don't follow Olbermann that much...guess I'll have to check up on him too.

Indeed, he's got about 3X the IQ and is far more entertaining and far less self serving.

I don't always agree with everything Olbermann says, but I respect him.

Greatest Sports Center anchor ever as well.

You don't think editorial bias seeps into the NY times stories? That's pretty wishful thinking wouldn't you say?

That would be wishful thinking. It's also not really what I said. Keep up now!
