It's not like he's been beating down the door or anything. He's been mediocre to slightly above average in the AHL. 35 points in 56 games is just ok for the AHL, and he also sports a -13 which is 3rd worst on the team. This has been a career worst season for him, and it's not like he's had a lot of competition for playing time on the farm with everyone having a relatively poor year.
Shore has probably hit his peak as a player, which is unfortunate, but it happens. I think these couple of games are just to make sure they really gave him another shot to see if he can look like he belongs in the NHL. My guess is he's relatively invisible again, but I could end up being surprised by him.
