I find this forum a lot more engaging when arguments can be had without personally attacking the poster.

As for Monahan, he is part of the team's core that has been developed from within. No choice but to lock him up to a LT contract. $6 million is probably about right hopefully. More than about any player on the team, he has demonstrated consistency from day 1.

Agreed for the most part. It's not really possible to have an actual discussion with someone obviously just here to troll however.

Taylor Hall gets paid $6MM and he is a winger.

Nuge gets paid $6MM and he's a class below Mony as a center.

If Johnny is looking at a Tarasenko comparable, and perhaps a few hundred k more, surely Monahan is a $7MM player as well.

As has been mentioned here before, Barkov is a great comparable to Monahan. I'm not sure the oilers contracts have much bearing. Treliving will do right by the Flames.
