HBO has announced today that they’ll be teaming up with Bill Simmons for After the Thrones, a weekly show that “takes a lively, humorous and sophisticated look at” Game of Thrones. It will debut this month, with the first episode premiering on April 25th, the day after GoT’s season 6 premiere.

Still watching it all over again, just reached Tyrion's trial for alledgedly killing Joffrey and I have to say that the scene after Shay throws him under the bus because he broke her heart and he demands a trial by combat was just amazing and even better on the second viewing. Peter Dinklage absolutely killed it, one of the best performances in any show if you ask me.

He does the role well. To be fair, that role is one of the most well written roles in entertainment (just using the books as script), so that role is set-up for a good actor to blow it away.

I haven't read the books so I will take your word for that on the source material. But I just meant that particular scene was all kinds of incredible.

I find Tyrion to be so well written in the books that he even started out as one of my favorite characters, and has remained so throughout the books, despite my flip-flopping on most everyone else.

Yeah, I think Tyrion is the only I have liked all the way through except maybe Jon Snow and I think Cersei and Sansa are the only I have disliked all the way though.
Hrmm that is definitely Mace Tyrell with Jamie at the temple, looks like he has come for his kids.
And the fight where they make it look like it is Bolton army vs Wildlings there are banners on the Wildling side, they don't have banners! The North remembers.
Am I on da crack, or does that not look like Benjen in the background at the start of the trailer?

The McShane mystery continues. I still can't think of who he will portray...
Quote:
Ian McShane (Deadwood), who joins the cast this season for a small but important role, said in an interview, “I bring back a much-loved character everybody thinks is dead.”
I'll go out on a limb and guess Rickon is all grow'd up and rough looking from too much Osha lovin.
Problem I have with it being Benjen is there's no similarity between McShane and Bean. We've also seen an actor as Benjen who does. So unless we're going with the "Benjen is Coldhands" theory and McShane will be all done up with make-up I'm not sure.
They switched actors for Daario Naharis, and that was in consecutive seasons. Benjen hasn't appeared since season 1. I have no idea what the actor from that season (not Sean Bean btw - he was Eddard Stark. Benjen was played by Joseph Mawle) is up to these days, but it's conceivable to me that he could be easily switched out -- especially for a higher profile actor.
A glance at that page suggests Benjen will only appear in flashbacks. Don't know if that makes McShane more or less likely to portray him.
