You guys may hate Jonas Hiller now but you will be cheering 30 years from now when the Statue is erected of Auston Matthews standing beside Jonas Hiller aka the man who made it all possible.

Every single Ducks forward got a point last night. 3 of the 6 defensemen too.

We might owe Hiller some Thank You cards if we win the lottery on April 30th. He really has been a one man Tank Commander this season.

Agreed.

...3 goalies to start the season sure was an awful idea and set us back in the standings....

*Tank is on*

...Welp, better carry 3 goalies again. Oh and Bob? Do you mind starting Hiller for the rest of the season, that'd be great....

To all those saying we will beat Vancouver and Edmonton....they do not have the secret weapon we have in this race. What we lack in awful team play, we make up for with the unstoppable Swiss Sieve and the creaky kneed Backstrom. A mediocre finish is assured! (unless Ortio starts, and even then it is a coin flip)

I don't think that I've ever wanted a season to end so fast in my life.

I remember from 96 to 02 I just kinda accepted the Flames suck, and that big budget teams would continue winning championships until Kingdom come.

After the 04 Cup run and the subsequent salary cap era, it was nice to watch the Flames be competitive for a few years, and even when they missed a few years in a row post 2009, they still had a chance with Iggy & Kipper.

The past two seasons were the start of the rebuild, so it was exciting to see the direction the team was going. Playoffs were hell of a lot of fun.

But this season just stinks. The Flames should NOT be this bad, and it's frustrating. I wish it was over.

The first goal was Perry alone in front with no one around by 10 feet. That's inexcusable. Defense was atrocious

I found the 2007-2011 flames much harder to watch.

They were hard to watch, but at the same time, at least they were competitive until the end of the season.

Johnny makes every game easier to watch.

...so the last 2 games have been really hard to watch, even with a win in ARZ

Yeah, that's what I mean. At least 2007-2011 the Flames were pretty competitive so watching wasn't that painful.

Sure, it was painful to watch veteran after veteran making rookie mistakes on the ice, but that is another matter.

This season just sucks. Bottom feeder, but shouldn't be.

There is a ton of promise about this Flames team. Much more promise than the late Iginla era teams. I find this season not at all hard to watch. Goaltending and bad luck will hand us a great draft pick and we've got one of the best young cores in the league. The future has never been brighter! Much, much more excited to watch this team than the lame attempts to compete with an old Iginla.

My case in point. I can't wait for this season to end to see what the future holds.

All the posts before the game talking of Hiller getting the start to ''show him respect'' was such garbage. I was a huge Hiller fan last season. But the team folds like a cheap tent when he's in yet. Yes the Flames have issues other then goaltending. But confidence your net minder is such a huge part of the game. The players themselves state that all the time.

There's no defending Hiller. Not to show him respect. Not to give him a send off. Not to have him showcase whatever skills anyone thinks he has left. He's done. That's it that's all.

I genuinely do feel bad for the guy. I honestly haven't seen a decline in a Flames' player like this in all my years of watching hockey. Glencross doesn't even come close. And while I do feel bad for him, he made 9 million dollars the last 2 years and that sets him and his family up for life.

Having said that, I'm fine riding him and the Backstrom duo until the end of the season. I'll never actively cheer for loses. But at this point it's short term pain for long term gain. Tank Commanders Hiller and Backstrom will hopefully get us in good drafting position.

You're not being serious are you?

A plethora of pucks are used throughout the game. The "game puck" is the one that was being used when the game ended. Heck, it could have just been used for the final play if the previous puck went over the boards.

I'm still hoping Ferland will turn into something more than we've seen this year but the way he went so far past the net on that 2 on 0 with Bennett frustrated me. He's got the size to stop in front of the net and hold off the defender. Instead, he chose to do a flyby which allowed the defender to get between him and the puck.

FWIW - Craig Button had a nice little video on TSN yesterday about 3 Canadian teams that could push for the playoffs next year. He selected Montreal, Winnipeg and the Flames.

Even better was the answer to the question: Which team do you think has the prospect/farm team depth to challenge for the cup sooner rather than later and his answer was once again the Flames.

Chin up boys, we've got this in the baaaaaaag.
