So that's it. Thanks everyone for viewing and participating in CP The Genius!
That's pretty much it for me. I don't have much to reveal like Mazrim in mafia. I don't see the behind the scenes stuff

Woo Hoo!
What a game! Great fun to play with you squiggs - I sweated with every move during that game. It got down to one of those "I know that he knows that I know what he knows" sort of thing.
Thanks for organizing this whole thing Girly - it was a total blast! I wouldn't mind getting a link to the final quick topic just out of curiosity.

Ah - I guess if there wasn't much participation in it then that's fine.

I didn't think you'd be willing to bid all your chips in round 8. You could have a maximum of 17, and played white, so the range was 10-17. I thought you'd at least leave yourself at least one chip, moving the range from 10-16. If the chip count was 19-17, I needed to bid one more than you to win both rounds, and tie or bid two more in order to force another tie. I thought there was a chance you went 9 in round 7 and then 10 in round 8, or 8 in round 7 and 10-11 in round 8. My final thought was you went 10-13. I wanted to ensure I got the 10 if it was there, so I picked 12 over 13 and hoped.
I couldn't play 17/18, because if I had played either, and you had played 10 I lose round 9. I wasn't going to pick 14-17, so you did well to pick one of those numbers, and out played me.
I also thought you would have played black in round 8. This would have forced me to pick your number out of 10 (0-9), where by playing white I thought I'd be able to narrow the scope a little bit.

Yeah, I thought over the entire lunch hour about how to play that. I was almost sure you had 19 so regardless of what I played, you would have to guess a bit about what I did:
- Play a black - You'd either have to guess if I went high or low with black. If you thought I went high, you'd play the 10 and have enough to beat me in round 9. If you thought I went low you'd try to win with maybe 4 or 5 and have enough in the final round
- Play a white - You'd either have to guess if I went all in or played a low amount like 10 or 11. If you thought I went all in, you'd play enough to beat that and then win the last round with just a few left. If you thought I played low, you'd try to grab it with 12 or 13 and have the remainder left to win
After much debating, I decided all in was likely the most unpredictable play of them all, and therefore most likely to work. It was also the hardest case for you to counter, as you were unsure how many I had left after round 7.
Honestly, I thought you had beat me in round 4 - I suddenly realized that even if I played a zero, you'd be up 3-1 and firmly in the drivers seat, even though I had a big chip advantage. That resulted in me having to make a massive overpayment (didn't think it was that massive though!) to ensure you didn't go up 3-1. After that, it was a grind to try and win without giving up to many chips. Your play in round 6 was fantastic - I really thought you'd overpay by much more than that.
All in all, the whole finals was great to play with you, and I had a blast.

As I mentioned to Girly in a PM, I knew after round 4 that I needed luck and/or a mistake to win. I thought I had you in round 4 until you won that one.

Yeah, once I realized that letting you win round 4 by playing a 0 would have almost surely been the kiss of death, the game changed. There was no longer a systematic way to play to ensure a path to victory - we had played too many points early on and there were too many rounds left.

Congrats to Mrkajz, and an especially big thank you to GirlySports for organizing this.
Out of curiosity, who else was in your guys' alliance? Devo I'm pretty sure of, and maybe HD?

The original alliance was: HD, Timbo, Devo, and myself. After we lost Timbo, Squiggs joined in. It was a straight shot from there to the end.
We figured it was GGG, HG, Matt, and Pux as a team, but were unsure where the others stood at the beginning of the game. Alliances became a little more clear as time went on, but it was a little hazy there near the beginning.

Also, I was giving some thought to how much time and effort Girly put into this game for us, and it was all in the name of charity. It really was a selfless act and that inspired me to do the same. As such, I am matching the winning donation to Kid Sport. It's a program I really believe in, but I know I'm guilty of not making enough time or effort to help out that cause.
Thanks again Girly - I don't know how you put up with us over the past few months! I guess we only truly broke one game

Interesting to see the different strategies. GGG/HG/Matt/Starseed/Pux played a much more aggressive game from the start, with their alliance dominating the zombie game. After a few rounds I thought it was very likely that one of them would win, but it wasn't to be.

I'm surprised alliances started and lasted throughout the game because it is a different game every week and the randomized draws might put allies on different teams or playing in a random order. Also only having Two Gios means they that ally members will always be at risk to be picked for the death match.
Ironic that is was the draft (not something randomized) that broke the game.

I think it'd be interesting to see this game played under 'mafia' communication rules. (IE no PMs or communication outside the thread). It would lose the alliance intrigue, but would help the earlier games as a block couldn't just touch each other in the zombie game, for example, which would increase the strategy required for each main match. It'd be different, and I'd be interested to see how. I'm not sure if it could be any more fun than this, but it would feel new again.
