Maybe if he gained 10 pounds of muscle and developed his shot more.

Keith is top 3 in the league. Nothing for Brodie to be ashamed of if he never gets there.

IDK if Keith will miss any playoff time...Coyle finished the game, and the DOPS seems to take "severity" of injury into account...I expect 4 or 5 games. What is the minimum for the "in-person" review, 3 games? 'Hawks have 5 left on the schedule.

On the play...retaliatory? yes, unnecessary? Yes. undisciplined? Yes.

But, I was shocked that Coyle didn't get tagged for at least 2 minutes, himself. It looked like he got his stick high at Keith's mouth to start the play, and then jerked Keith's legs out to dump him.

Unfortunately, Keith, in frustration, swung wildly from his back. It seems that Keith can be goaded into these sort of retaliations, getting even with Sedin's uncalled cheap shot, taking out a missed trip by slashing Gaudreau, and this Coyle stuff...and this is wrong, however, I still hold that crappy Officiating adds to the incidents of, not just Keith's, but many of the other incidents of frustration/retaliation that you see in the league.
Lets be honest - Keith is a dirty player. He's freaking amazing but also super dirty.

It's Corey Crawford, guys. Look at how bad that team is without a goalie to save them right now. Seriously.

Crawford deserves to be in the Vezina discussions this year, a lot of the guys getting most of the hype have dropped off a bit. Especially Holtby who will win it because winz even though he's been rather average lately

While I like Crawford well enough, I've always felt that he is little more that a big, positionally sound, static type goaltender...needs a lot of help with clearing the puck, below average puckhandler, average glove. He needs the likes of Hjarlmasson, Seabrook, and Keith to clear the puck, clog shooting lanes, etc.

BTW...IMO, losing Hjammer, would be as disastrous for the 'Hawks as losing Keith. Top shot blocker, top PK D-man, top match-up D-man. Better than you think on breakouts, with the first pass.

I picked Keith because I felt that his loss would hurt more. But all three have different roles to play and it is arguably because they have those 3 guys ably supported by other players (Hjarlmasson, Crawford, Panarin, Hossa, etc.) that they are a regular cup winner.
Elite talent at key positions

Interesting assessment. If that's the case, it seems like Crawford could be one of the ones that will be most negatively affected by the equipment changes.

Kane.
Toews is THE most overrated player in the NHL.

Keith is the overrated one. He's a very good d-man but is not top 3 in the league as some have suggested. He has significant deficiencies that are more than made up for by his puck moving skills (skating included).

Kane on the other hand is clearly among the elite at forward. Toews is too, but Kane's a cut above, and the two-way play doesn't make up the difference. Arguable who's more valuable though owing to Toews clearly being the guy driving the bus as the captain. Kane just doesn't strike me as that guy.

This year? Kane. Regular season? Keith and Toews almost equally. Playoffs? I don't think any of the three are more valuable than the other in the playoffs, that's why they each have a Conn Smyth. All three of them find an extra gear when the playoffs roll around, Toews especially with his massive clutch goals

I think Keith has been the most consistent over their 3 cup runs. Toews and Kane seem to have peaks and valleys, but Keith is always solid.

This "Best Overall" player stuff is nonsense. The guy is on pace for less than 60 points.
