Default Tramampoline! Tramampoline!

Looking for tramampoline trampoline advice.

We are looking to get one for out kids, recommendations on styles, places to buy?

It looks like anything used gets grabbed up quickly on Kijiji?

It's a bit sad seeing these commercials on TV about these injury proof trampolines. Nothing toughened me up more than the time I jumped out of the master bedroom window, landed too close to the edge of the tramp, and bounced back and landed on those springs.

Make sure you get one that can injure your kids. It'll teach them responsibility.

cant talk one of your neighbors into buying one eh? a few years ago my wife was hot to get the kids one, i did not want it because i could see it getting used for one summer and then ignored - then my son wound up cutting his toungue while on a tramp at a neighbors - my wife changed her mind......

anwyas, I'd recommend heading down to the trampoline district by COP.

i have seen them at Costco and Walmart and Can Tire

We have one of these that we got when my kid was little.

Got it at Costco at the time, it really is super safe (well other than kids crashing into each other).

We bought one from Jumpsport. They have different models - one that is a softer bounce for little ones. We have the staged bounce model. We got the 14" model as we have a big yard but it is pretty massive. We are on season 3 with it. Our kids are still pretty small and are out there all the time. We take it down and set it up each year to keep it in good condition. Overall a great investment for us.

And I understand they can be dangerous. So can riding a bike. I choose to let my kids live outside a bubble. Cannot stand when people look at you like you are the worst parent cause you bought your kids a trampoline.

Trampolines are one of those things that I look back to my childhood and find myself a bit in awe that we used them without any real safety considerations at all. I group the safety barriers you see on them today alongside things like NHL fan safety netting... upon introduction I didn't think they were necessary but in hindsight I can't believe we didn't have them. Once you remove the ability to fall into the springs or off the side, they're probably 100x safer.

I was the one who fought it in our house and I'm glad I gave in. My kids got years of enjoyment out of it, and they learned how to do somersaults, backflips, etc. It amazes me how skillful they got on it for kids who are not into sports at all.

We had the net, but that has a lot of issues, they hang on it, climb it, and fly into it on a regular basis, I think it builds a false sense of security. It only lasted 3 seasons and then it was too damaged to keep.

You can have all the rules you want, they go out the window the first week.

And you'll be amazed how many kids actually live in your neighborhood.

I'd buy used. A ton of them on kijiji. That way if the kids get board with it you just sell at no loss.

Bought ours from Canadian Tire about three or four years ago. We bought the round 14' trampoline without the stupid enclosure. 4x4 has a point. I feel my kids have learned to be more safe around ledges by jumping on a trampoline without an enclosure.

Well it taught us to put the sofa cushions around the trampoline covering the springs so that it didn't happen the next time....though we were jumping out of a tree.

The sofa cushions were for the grass to break the fall of the trampoline Royal Rumble matches!

It doesn't appear that Springfree are available at Costco any longer.

It seems to be crap or stuff that gets gobbled up quickly on Kijiji (at least in the short time I've been looking. Will definately keep looking. Anything like a Springfree gets bought really quickly I'd imagine.

The neighbours don't have kids, unfortunately.

That's probably true, we just bought the regular kind. I'm not sure there are really good and bad trampolines, Outside of looking cool I don't see the advantages with springfree.

It's probably hard to justify the cost being double to go to the Springfree.

Well yeah, but beware the ones that have little stick figures painted on them. Thats how many kills it has.

I was against getting one, but my kids use it a lot, as do their friends. We just got ours out this past weekend.
