So...I'm not a reader of the comics but the fate of Glenn was spoiled to me. Curious to see if this group, knowledgable as you all are, feel how this plays out on the TV version. Seems like they could swerve the audience and kill off someone else. It is interesting that 3 of the absolute favorites are in danger now (Glenn, Michonne, Darryl).
I also know that Darryl isn't in the comics at all, so he seems like a candidate to be bashed in.
I've added a poll.

I think it has to be Glenn. Just because Maggie is already in that Hilltop leader story arch, it would be too awkward having Glenn by her side. She's also becoming the mother figure to Enid, similar to the comics where she has taken on looking after Sophia for Carol.
I seriously think they would lose viewership if they off Daryl. It would be a mistake.
I voted Glenn, just makes sense...

Back when the Glenn/Maggie pregnancy was revealed, I figured one of them would kick the bucket. It's just typical in shows like this. They want to give you that extra kick in the nuts by giving you something happy, that way when the person gets killed, it is even more sad than it would be otherwise.
The shower scene at this beginning of the episode sealed it for me. It has to be Glenn.

And the look she gave him through the gate as they were driving off.
In fact they are making it so obvious, that`s why I wonder if it will go a different direction.
Or maybe that`s just me hoping. I voted Darryl. But deep down I know it is probably Glenn.

This was the foreshadowing from last episode:
Glenn is toast.

I was thinking it would be Daryl before last night's episode but the teasing his death at the ending makes me think that he is not going to be the Lucille victim. I think rivalry between him and Dwight will be a long, drawn out one that will go into next season.
I voted Glenn. I could also see it being Carol, but it would be shocking.

They have been flirting with Glenn and baseball bats for a while now, I have a hard time seeing it not be him. My second guess would be Abraham, since they didn't kill him off with the arrow in the eye.
I hope it's Morgan though, he's so out of place.

It is really terrible someone spoiled that for you. I am not an expert like many on here but IMO the Glenn death in the comics is the biggest death by far. I think it would be a travesty to not do it the same way, I think this may also be a reason why all the big death from the comics have been different characters than it was in the comics to make Glenn's shocking to readers too.

Agree wit hthe above, I hope they stay with Glenn, not because I want him gone I just want them to stick with the hard decision. Plus this death is supposed to hurt. It is going to galvanize the group and have a huge effect on Rick, and anyone else won't have that effect.

The irritating thing is how it happened. Someone reported this thread to the mods because of spoilers. Of course spoilers are fine in THIS thread, so clearly the person was mixed up. I clicked on their report to see what was going on, and read several posts before realizing that I was in the comic thread.
Somewhat my fault for not clueing in sooner, but still aggravating as heck.
Remarkably though my tension for the season finale has only grown.

I find the show changes things just enough and has enough original content, that it makes for a good parallel experience. I tried to stay at the current comic/show, but when I got to the Negan story I read quite a ways ahead.
I recommend the comics to anyone who is show only, it's not hard to stay concurrent if you really want to.

I've got a similar story. I had a client who noticed some of my Walking Dead office memorabilia and just started going on about all this stuff thats going to happen between now and the end of the season.
That being said, I agree, it 'spoiled it' for me a little bit but the show deviates enough that I'm still engaged and I really dont know anything more than whats going to happen to the end of the season.
On this issue, I voted Daryl. I think Daryl has been the real thorn in the side of the Saviours and hes the one who is going to get the Lucille treatment. But I agree, I do hope it stays as Glenn. I'll miss him, but it should be him to move the story forward.
If its Daryl, the 'moody-loner' it isnt going to have the same impact as if its Glenn the 'good guy/family man.'
Although I'll admit, that pissed me off a bit. Finding out what 'Lucille' was, although it was spoiled a bit on talking dead a couple of times as well.
But since I know its coming I'll be watching for my wife's reaction.

I have only myself to blame. I was reading a site that warned of spoilers, but thought that I could stop before getting to the point that anything big was revealed. I couldn't.
Having said that, I am going to try and have better willpower going forward, so after this angle plays out, I won't be in this thread again (hopefully).

I don't want to spoil it any more for you but the way he chooses should be suspenseful in itself even for readers of the comics. we won't know till right before it happens. I can't wait.

I just thought of something that would be terrible. What if they end the season on his choice (but you don't see it) and do the reveal and deed in the next season.

I kind of hate how everything from the episode previews to Talking Dead to media, forums, etc. are spoiling the Lucille moment. by this point pretty much everyone now knows that a major character is going to bite the dust at the hands of Negan with a barbed wire bat, and all we have left to talk about is whether it will be the same or different than the comics.
I don't remember this kind of hype leading up to the Game of Thrones Red Wedding, and the effect was amazing cause all the non-book readers collectively lost their minds (and dinner) at that moment. I wanted that same thing for this Sunday's episode (this time being on the reader side) but now it seems the most reaction we'll get out of it is "ohh, they picked him/her. eww gross..."

Yeah, once the season finale is over I'm going to peace out of this thread because I like discussing the show in the other one and I dont think I know anything much farther than this upcoming finale other than some stuff about people guessing who the guy 'looking for his horse' was.

yes evil twist, but again to my earlier point, the cast themselves spoiled this already as well. they openly talked about how the script for the finale is was so disturbing and awful that they didn't want to film it. well what else could that be except for of course a Glenn or equal character getting their brain sent to the outfield.
I even briefly liked how the Saviors would keep saying that they were all Negan because that made it possible Negan was not really Supergoverner as everyone thinks, but maybe a concept or dogma. but no, next week's preview shows his leather jacket and bat and the line "Hi, I'm Negan". come on already, enough of that crap.

Yeah I liked that too, but I knew it wasnt true because IMDB spoiled for me the actor credited as Negan right after the mid-season Premiere.
I checked out the page for the premiere after watching it and 'hey guess what actor is popular' and there it was. Negan.
