Sam Bennett: Countdown to 20 goals, 20 assists, 40 points
Calgary Flames rookie centre Sam Bennett needs three goals in the final six games (plus the third period of the Flames/Coyotes game) to finish 2015-16 with 20 goals. He also needs two more assists in that same timeframe.
If he achieves the first mark, 2015-16 will be the third straight season in which a Flame rookie has scored 20 goals. The previous two rookies who achieved this mark in a Flames uniform were:
Johnny Gaudreau (2014-15): 24 goals, 64 points
Sean Monahan (2013-14): 22 goals, 34 points
Sam Bennett
6 Games Remaining
3 Goals Needed
2 Assists Needed

He's also passed Monahan in rookie points which I figure is darn good.

Bennett has now scored more points than Monahan in his rookie year. Monahan was 18 and turned 19 in the first month and rode a hot start to a spot on the team. Bennett played 12 games last year including 11 in the playoffs. He has had some dry spells and hot streaks this year.
Here is hoping Bennett explodes in his second full season like Monahan did

Id love for him to at least match Monahans rookie goal total. 22? If he stays hot he should get at least 5 more.

5 more might be a stretch, but 3 is definitely doable.

5 is not a stretch when you can score 4 in a game!

Would be great if he could reach 20 goals. Either way, he's had a really good rookie season. Sure there were some rough patches, but given that he's only 19 and lost almost a full season of development, this season has been a success ... the consistency will come. Love the way he plays and competes, just a really nice blend of skill and sandpaper. This guy is going to be a cornerstone for this team for a very long time.

He has some consistency issues but is young so no surprise there. Needs to beef up a bit as he is often out muscled but again, he is young and likely can add a few lbs without giving up speed and dexterity. He is pretty liberal with his stick which likely will cost him a penalty here and there but I hope he keeps up the tenacity.

Scoring Winger

While Bennett has posted good but not overwhelming numbers this season, I'm more encouraged by what I see from him game to game. He's visibly noticeable most nights and is often one of the more dangerous flames on the ice. I remember he had a 15-20 game stretch at the beginning of the season without a goal but was easily one of the best forwards on the ice, and in many games was the best forward. Once his game gets some consistency, he'll be a beast.

Solid rookie season considering he has bounced around from line to line and from winger to center. He's got that high energy to his game that you don't see from Monahan and Gaudreau yet like them he's also highly skilled. If he can get stronger I can see him being the sparkplug for this team for a long time. That line of Ferland, Bennett and Colborne looked really good last night and hopefully this is a line that can grow together.

Solid rookie season for a guy who missed pretty much the entire final year of Junior and went straight to the NHL. Needless to say, with this year and soon to be off-season under his belt, next year is the year we truly see what Bennett can do.

Yep a good season for Bennett. I love how he drives the net all the time, he seems completely fearless and certainly doesn't lack confidence.
Once he gets stronger, and ultimately stronger on the puck he will be dynamite. It will be fun to watch him develop.

He was on a really unfortunate run there with the goal posts and disallowed goals but he's proof that hard work, talent, and perseverance will overcome tough luck.

That would be a treat as a Flames fan to have a rookie pot 20 goals in 3 straight years.
Mony was the first one since Dion right?
