Was a little out of hand.
Bikes have come and gone and now we have three road bikes (One is for sale), 2 all-mountain bikes (one is for sale), one singlespeed, one cross bike, the beater commuter, one cruiser, and two kids bikes (one is for sale).
Our bike volume has gone down, but the cost has gone up substantially. For myself, I'm trying to just have an awesome road bike, which I have, and an awesome full suspension bike. I might replace the fatbike I sold this spring.

I created a CP club on Strava this AM - not sure what the interest is but might be worth it.

I just tried the legacy trail as my first ride of the season. I was close but not quite ready. Made it 18km then decided to turn back to canmore. It was actually perfect, as I really wet all out on the return trip and my quads were completely fatigued on the last 1 km.
Where would you guys recommend I go for a bike fitment check? My hybrid is definitely not feeling good, as my palms were crushing into my handlebars, my shoulders were shrugged the whole time, and I kept trying to push my butt further back in the seat?
I've got a Scott sportster 10 in M frame and I am 5'9 with shorter legs (30in inseam)

Almost done the thunderbolt winter build. Nothing else to do today, so I'm going to buckle down and finish her up (fluid into reverb, checking torque specs on the frame/headset, open up the tires to clean up dried Stans crud, etc). Re: Strava - is it doable with an iPhone? As with most of my bike tools, my garmin disappeared in the divorce.

I've never participated in this ride, although I have ridden the first half of it on my own.
It is laid back as far as I know and the hard chargers will wait at the top of most climbs and wait for everyone to regroup. It doesn't matter what bike you use; apparently there a couple of guys who do it on single speed.
My preferred route would be half of the 75km which would allow for an earlier arrival at the pub.

All of those short, steep little ramps east of Crowchild add up at the end of the day to make COP really suck. EG, that alley by Edmn Tr at 14%. I think quite a few walk that one.
They couldn't find a way to squeeze in that little hill east of Shag golf course? I think that one averages 17% doesn't it?

Ugh, Just Ridin' Along... PING! KeeeerTHUNK!

This is the second time this has happened. Frehub broke on this crappy Wheeltech hub. Warrantied the first time. I think I need to get a better brand, usually Rocky Mountain is pretty good about specing decent parts, but these..ugh.
Made for an interesting ride down form Nose Hill though. I could keep riding as long as I was peddling. No coasting though, or the chain would snarl up. Counter intuitive to be peddling downhill while hard on the brakes, some mental gymnastics on that one!

^ that rocky mtn does not look like it would be fun to ride as it appears to have no seat

After you complete the Ronde van Cowtown, you will probably be looking forward to some more climbing.
On 11 Jun 16, you can participate (for free) in the There and Back Again Highwood Pass Cogal.
http://www.velominati.com/the-cogals...od-cogal-2016/
Cogal: Cogals are meetings of like-minded misfits brought together by the promise of beer, preceded by a bike ride. Cogals are free, open to all, organized by our fellow Velominati and are always followed by consumption of post-ride recovery ales and merriment.
"Total distance ~110km, which is a bit short for a Cogal, but at no point will we ride below 1500m above sea level, which we feel makes up for the short distance. Total elevation gained ~1650m. Pace will be moderately deliberate, with the fastest pace around ~25kph average (obviously much slower up the climbs). As it is an out-and-back route, those who want a shorter ride can turn around at any time, but some good natured ribbing and instruction to meditate on Rule V may ensue."

Coys - will join later today. It's healthy for me to be humiliated every now and then.
Hulse - yeah shelving works ok. if you're thinking about it, just make sure to get the spacing between the hooks correct. There are a couple of spots where I skimped on width (for the kid bike) and have actually yanked out brake lines when removing adjacent bikes.
NEZ - less fun to ride today than yesterday. Bled the seat post lines so it actually works now. I have a saddle coming from CRC, resisting the temptation to ride it trial style.

Pretty sure that won't be the case.
I think the benefit is from finding cool routes that other people have biked and maybe some fun segments along them.
I track rides with my wife and kids so not everything is top speed.

Cracker - I need to set up a similar series of hooks for my bikes, how did you figure out how far apart to place the hooks - I am guessing you placed each hook about the width of one handle bar plus a couple of inches?
And also how far from the vertical wall did you go?
Lastly, can you post a picture of that rocket mtn when done? As I have an RM Altitude, but on a 730.

I used hooks in my basement ceiling into joists, 16" apart. Hooks are about 13" from the wall. Works fine for my 29er, 26" and 2 road bikes. They are a bit close together, mostly due to lack of space. Maybe 20" apart would be better spacing.
