2nd period over 0-0

Jankowski and Gilmour working the puck around on the PP at the end of the period. Some good work there.

And I've been in the back burner by myself.

I'll say what I said there- you can see what the Flames talk about when they say Jankowski has to play faster to make the NHL full time. He tends to slow down when he first gets the puck.

It's not just his reach, it's his reach+anticipation+skating that allow him to control a huge area of ice.

If they lose today, he'll get an up front introduction to that when they play him for the final stretch of games this year. It'll give him an eye opening experience on what level he needs to train for in the offseason to get ready for camp.

Yup, he likes to slow it down and control the play. That'll work fine in college, but will have to change in the pros.

It's not that he doesn't have speed - he does - it's a style issue.

Given there's been pretty much 1 good chance the entire game - how does overtime work? Can they play all night or does it go to a shootout after a while?

I suspect its more of a quickness issue rather than a style decision. But we will see when gets to the pros. Pretty common with big guys as it takes them longer to get their body moving.

It is OT until someone scores. Friars went to 3 OTs last game before losing.

UMD up 1-0.

Ellis with some heroics before the goal, but didn't look like he was expecting that shot.

Friars really miss Walman. I'd like to see Gilmour a bit more involved.
