I actually liked your original shoulders. They looked more balanced. Perhaps with the Alternate jersey piping.

Good work! I have a couple of changes I would implement if I had any say.

For the white jersey I would switch the yellow and red around on the striping. Looks like too much yellow to me. I like the alternate logo but I'm not sure I like it as a primary logo on the black jersey. I'd probably put a red Flaming C as the primary logo... and I'm also unsure of an all-black jersey. I'd probably actually stick with red, but use the black trim and logo for the 3rd jerseys.

That 3rd is amazing (for a 3rd)! I think the dark grey is reminding me of the horse head era black jerseys.

This thread (and the ones like it) paints a pretty good picture of how/why the franchise can never win when it comes to jersey design. Very enlightening.

Dunno about that. If they brought back the retros, they would have a pretty big win on their hands as 70% of this board considers them the best in franchise history. The other 30% are probably stuck in the early 2000s Town of Dissen where everything is black and eyeliner'd. If you're making 70% of your most rabid fanbase very, very happy, I think that would about as big of a slam dunk as any brand could ever hope for. This is a subset of your fanbase that is so obsessed with your product that they sign up to a message board to talk about it with other nerds and rack up tens of thousands of posts debating which #6D isn't getting enough ice time. A section of your fanbase that buys Flames branded crockpots. Who have avatars of their children wearing Flames gear the INSTANT they are out of the womb. Who buy David Jones, Todd Bertuzzi, and TJ Galiardi jerseys (seriously, all one guy). Who dress up like the short-lived mascot of the FARM TEAM. Give the people what they want, goddammit!

If this thread paints a pretty good picture of anything, it's a picture of design-by-committee being No Good. Especially if the committee has little to no design experience. I'm not referring to those whipping up concepts - I find them interesting too. But when everyone pitches in their own idea, you end up with the current abysmal thirds. Scary Eloranta, can you add some speed holes? I think they'd really jazz things up a bit and really make it pop!

IDK about you, but I see 2-3 Bertuzzi jerseys every time I go to the Saddledome. They really aren't that uncommon.

Anyhow, no need to get so worked up over jerseys. It really isn't that big a deal.

After watching a fair bit of the Blues/Blackhawks series, I've come to really like the St. Louis Jersey.

I've done a crude MS Paint mockup with a Blues template (forgive me for the Boyes namebar) and Flames colours. I think it looks pretty sharp and would be very happy if the Flames came out with something like this.

A new one on icethetics I just came across.

Interesting to see the black as the outline on the red jersey instead of being in between the yellow and white as in previous versions.
