I honestly don't think they'll ever sell Kane unless the offer is over the top absurd. Maybe if he wasn't English, and more than likely the biggest English star for years to come, it could happen but I can't imagine the backlash their fans would give if it happened. I'd agree Madrid could do it but that only ever happens if they sell Bale which they almost certainly won't for a while.

There's something going on that they all want out.

And you can say all you want about the tv money and the wages aren't a concern but every club gets the tv money and their wages are going up also. Kane's going to be looking at Sterling every time he goes to an England camp with the knowledge that he earns close to x5 his wages. Don't kid yourself that that counts for nothing.
why do players who left 19 and 15 years ago matter?

Ronaldo wanted out, Beckham wanted out, Keane wanted out

there's something going on that they all want out....

Because my point is every top class player they have had has wanted out.

Ronaldo wanted out. Was persuaded to stay for another year.
Suarez wanted out. Liverpool paid up to keep him for another year.
Beckham wanted out. Yup. Keane was finished. Reached his sell by date ... done. Shipped out. Never ever wanted out at the top of his game.
Scholes didn't, Cantona didn't, Giggs didn't. Henry didn't. Vierra didn't, Adams didn't, Terry didn't.

That's the difference

There is a trend at Spurs where their top players want out. Always has been ... without exception.

All you have to do is plant the seed that the possibility is there to quadruple/x5 your wages and it'll start a player thinking.
As simple as that and teams like Utd can force Levy to fork out more wages.

Henry did...

but in general teams that are competing for titles year in and year out keep more players than clubs who aren't, is that really surprising?

Arsenal kept players when they were winning titles, now they struggle

Liverpool the same

will happen at United too depending on how the next few years go

it has nothing to do with specific clubs

Which they'll easily pay I'm sure. He's not just their best player but as their biggest star he's their meal ticket. Gotta spend money to make money, and I'm sure he'll make them a lot of money over the years. Jersey sales alone will make it worth it.

Not to mention the financial situation surrounding Spurs 15 years ago is vastly different than it will be for the next 15. New stadium, new TV deal, the NFL deal.

I think that's one things fans in the PL are going to have the accept, especially those of the the historically great teams, is there is going to be more parity now that teams have more money. And there's nothing wrong with the list of champions expanding past five and soon to be six teams. Even though Leicester are a kind of a Cinderella story, they do have wealthy owners too. More teams will be able to keep their players because of more wealthy owners getting involved too.

So I get this Score text saying that Manchester City are 'confident' that they can sign Messi.

Does Pep have photos of Messi murdering a transient?

You usually see managers/directors/owners abroad making these baseless claims so this could be a case of clickbait. However, I've seen a few stories that don't necessarily make me think a move can happen but that it isn't just an outlandish thought. The odds still remain long to remote.

The thing that always angers me is that "journalists" get paid for making up such BS.

Manchester United have apparently signed 16-year-old talent Tahith Chong from Feyenoord. Not big news, but big hair, so I thought I'd post it.

Immediate upgrade on Fellaini.

I hope they play him and Fellaini side-by-side in a game against PSG and David Luiz.

And then all of the fans bring rakes to the game!

sure. He's an idiot who deserves to be punished. But he doesn't deserve to be locked away for 6 years when you compare it to other English celebrities. Rolf Harris was sentenced to 5 years and 9 months in 2014 for molesting children in 12 cases. Max Clifford was sentenced to 8 years for molesting children in 8 cases. Stuart Hall was sentenced to 5 years in 2013 for molesting children in 13 cases. All of these asshats molested children who were younger than 10 years. I don't see any consistency here and have no idea how Johnson can get the same or even worse punishment than those #######s. Does he deserve jail time? Of course. But 6 years is pretty crazy.

Why are Spurs what I presume to be Foghorn Leghorn?

And Arsenal are just a disgruntled frenchman wielding a club?
