Clinton Interview on Fox News
The Bill Clinton interview on Fox News has been quite a bit of press lately, but I didn't see anything posted about it here. For those who haven't seen it the link below has a clip:

How is it non-news?
The brutally right wing, agenda spewing Fox News Channel basically tried to embarass the former president of the United States by asking an inflammatory, accusatory question and Clinton stood up for himself by taking Wallace to task point by point.

To quote lanny, "and in other news, lance bass is gay."
Is it news when a politically motivated cable news station draws the ire of a former president after they distorted and fabricated information to make him and his party look bad weeks before an election?
Is this really news, or is it a fabricated non-news story that is distracting us all from real, actual issues of the approaching election, or any of the other actually important news going on in the world?
Chalk this up with other 'real' news like whether brad pitt is staying at angelina's house or the latest crazy thing ann coulter said.

Huh?
It's an interview. Are you saying the interview can't be taken seriously because its on FOX?
Editorialization of the news, you might have a point. This isn't editorialization. Its an interview. Nobdoy is going to dismiss its simply because its on one particular network.
That said, as someone who has been critical of Clinton's administration's 'police action' stance on handling terrorism I found the questions to be inflammatory and simply not constructive.
Why people want to dwell on the past is beyond me.

When you can attempt to use it as a shield for the present, it becomes crystal clear why some people would attempt to dwell on the past.

Well, yeah.
I should've said it differently.
I'm not an idiot.
My point is that it is not constructive, even as a 'shield for the present'.

Interviews can be as subjective as any editorial, the questions can be and usually are absolutely loaded. Fox could probably produce some really insightful programming that holds alot of value - sadly the popular culture mocks fox news regularly and most people have tuned it out, even becoming desensitized to the shocks they produce now and again.

Clinton was bushwacked (no pun intended) and he finally stood up for himself. You can bet your ass that if this was Bush41 getting this treatment on CBS that the Republicans would be burning torches and killing Democrats in the streets. The bull**** that passes off as "reporting", "news", and "interviews" on Fox is embarassing. I can't see how ANYONE, especially someone that is quite intelligent like yourself Dis, can defend this hackery. I would expect this crap from HOZ and White Doors, but not from you Dis. This was as un-American as activities come.

If only Gore or Kerry had the fire of Clinton we wouldn't have to put up with the bible thumping politics of the Bush administration for 8 years.

Yep, the questions can be and USUALLY ARE loaded in any interview. The interviewee then can answer honestly as President Clinton most certainly did.
I think the majority of Americans saw right through the interview.
Or I guess we could just dismiss Clinton's excellent responses to some antagonistic questions because it was on FOX.

The electoral system isn't a joke at all, but I've given up trying to convince Canadians of that. How someone who can't even cast a vote for their individual representatives can call somebody else's system a joke is beyond hilarious.

Whether or not we dismiss the interview isn't in the picture when most people won't pay attention to the medium to begin with.

I'd dismiss it because its a particular network. I don't give FOX news an ounce of credibility in much the same way I don't the Calgary Sun as opposed to actual news source. I don't rate them in terms of quality information or in terms of partisan credibility either.
