My evaluation is just fine, thanks.

Ummm Nurse just kept punching Polak until his face was a bloody mess. What Jooris did was nothing like that.

Jooris did great in responding to the Johnny hit. That's what happens when you touch Johnny.

TSN panel said the refs got it right. I think they did too. Gaudreau had a weak slash, but it was still a slash. 100% right calls all around.

There is no padding on the back of the leg. It doesn't take much to collapse from a whack on that part of the leg, especially at the knee.
I also think the "love tap" everyone is talking about is downplaying the severity a tad.
|
The Gaudreau slash was more impactful, but I am not sure it warranted a two foot tippy toe, act like I got shot in the chest drop to the ice from Kadri though.

Actually, watching the replay it wasn't as bad as first interpreted. Now, Jooris didn't get the same opportunity that Nurse had (upright opponent not in a turtle position).
Jooris was trying damn hard to get Kadri to his feet, or at least expose him, to feed him a couple two or three whether Kadri was in for it or not.

The biggest difference is that Nurse's was in the last 5 minutes of a game that was decisively in control for one team, while this happened in the second period of a tie game. Never mind the severity of the beating that Polak took.

If Bollig doesn't feed Kadri's face next period he should be on the first flight to Stockton.

Yeah I agree, looking at the replay they just showed it doesn't look like Jooris throws a punch. Just looked like he tried to give him an atomic wedgie.
I also think part of the embellishment penalty was the launching of the stick 20 feet into the air.

anyone who doesn't think that a dive doesn't have a clue....Kadri likely gets fined
for such a bad slash he sure recovers quickly

Gaudreau's was truly a little tap, IMO. A small whack on the ankle out of frustration and to let Kadri know he ain't going down without a bit of fight.
Jooris' was hard enough to take a guy down.
I do have to admit, given the source, the drama of the fall can be interpreted as a little much.
