We are going to lose. Toronto might not have much talent but they work hard and more than that, they put a lot of pucks on goal. So expect a lot of floaters from far out tonight and when you combine that with Jonas Hiller you are looking at giving up a boatload of goals.
You're comparing a roster that boasts Monahan, Gaudreau, Bennett, Brodie, and Hamilton to the Young Guns Flames? That might be one of the worst comparisons ever made.
This team already has elite level talent, which is a BIG reason why a bottom five finish is a bit of a pipe dream.
Who cares? For one you miss the point, secondly the results in points/standings will be the same as young guns teams, hence the comparison. But go ahead and split hairs.

If nothing else, I hope we get to see Gio put Kadri on his ass a couple of times tonight. Maybe we get to see some more throat slashes from classy Nazeem.

The point as I see it was to complain about how in fortuitous it is that the Flames continue to win at the expense of their draft lottery odds, and to undermine any achievement that occurs in the final stretch of meaningless games as somehow invalid as a consequence of circumstances.
On both counts the sentiment is petty and juvenile in light of the very bright future that appears for the Flames young stars, as if they are somehow handcuffed from achieving it in the absence of a high draft pick in 2016.
I personally find it bothersome as a distraction from seeing a lot of positive and potential for next season. And I find this rather absurd given the terribly slim margins that now exist for every team to win the draft lottery. In other words, it is just not at all worth complaining about.
Anyhow. GFG.

The way I see it the Flames just simply are not as bad as the Canucks, Oilers, Leafs, Jets. They're not out sucking those teams so get off of the bloody tanking mentality, enjoy watching the kids play and develop and let the cards fall where they may. The Flames can easily be a playoff team next year without a top 3 draft pick.
I agree with all of this but it still is upsetting. This year has been a near write off from the get go. The team was a tire fire out of the gate and when it looked like they turned the corner and we're going to make a run they flatlined. Shortly after that they go on another huge fall entering the last quarter of the season. A nice homestand and a couple wins against some weak opponents and they have leaped several teams.
This team will be solid without a top 3 pick but adding one of those 3 players could really help build that elite contender for a good 5 year run

I agree completely that the year was/is very frustrating and the team was complete crap to start the season. I am, not happy about it one bit. But I will not be one of those losers that are clamoring for 8% difference in a draft lottery. We have seen first hand from the team up north what happens when you except losing. You lose, plan and simple. Even a golden boy cannot drag a loser out of the losing dumps, it seeps in and becomes a way of life. Flames are battling, showing they still care and hopefully they go into the off season and into next season with that attitude. Not that losing is ok.
We all want the best possible draft pick, that's without question. Some of us are just better prepared to except it may not happen and are ok with it. There are a lot of different ways to build a team and I think the Flames are on a good track without a single top 3 pick.
Fun game, 2 classic Iggy goals down the right wing.
Also Stajan scoring for Toronto.
this video makes me miss kiprusoff. Just look how much point blank saves he had to make. I remember knowing he would stop all those shots and now with our current goaltending getting nervous from each rush the opposing team has.
