So glad we have Rick Ball.

It was even more embarrassing and cringe-worthy than that. I think he said something like "Here comes the next generation!!"

Wow, that's a non-confidence vote for our goaltenders. Hamilton drove the bus over three guys there.

I wouldn't say it's against all 3. Ortio has been good lately, and Ramo was pretty good for most of his season.

You're missing Johnny Gaudreau ahead of Yakupov...

Good call, I expanded the list of the 2011 draftees on the list since there were several 50+.

Mark me down for the category where he ran the bus over all three. Ortio may be playing better but the team still doesn't play confident in front of him. They are not expecting him to make the saves.
This lays right at the feet of the GM who failed to make a move. The players know it and the coach knows it. They were hung out on a limb with terrible goaltending all year.

Somebody can correct me if I'm wrong, because I just looked quickly, but I'm pretty sure Johnny's 0.90 career points per game is better than any player drafted since 2009. Tavares and his 0.92 has him beat.
Even beats Tarasenko and Hall.
Well almost any player, as McDavid has 39 points in 37 games. Puke.

Our Defense is also miles ahead without Wideman and Russell. We needed more size back there and that's what we have now. BT was the one that brought Kevin and Nakladal in who were great pick-ups. He gets an Failing mark for the goaltending this year but if he even gets a B next year for bringing in quality goaltending we are in the playoffs.

That's good. The quality of our goaltending this season should be completely unacceptable to anyone in our organization. Even having just average goaltending would have us in a playoff spot right now instead of debating which lottery pick prospect we're going to add.
All three of them have been terrible with only short flashes of competency from either Ortio or Ramo. It has been Anders Eriksson level quality all year.
If you had the Flames goalies combining for a .918 sv% (which would rank 20th among goalies in the league), the Flames would have surrendered 171 goals with the goalies in net. That's 37 fewer goals against. That's one every other game. That's likely enough for the Flames to have 7-8 more wins. Our goal differential would be pretty much equivalent to Anaheim's (better than NSH/COL/MIN/STL).
Since the start of March, the Flames are averaging 2.7 goals against per game, which is down by .46 goals per game, which is a vast improvement. In those games, the Flames a 5-3-2. The team itself isn't bad. The bottom 4 defensemen (except Engelland) + goaltending have been. Not much you can do though right now. Just have to fix those things in the offseason.

Did anyone say that about Backstrom or you making up crap AGAIN?
Everyone knew he was promised couple stars in a lost season, don't think I've read a single complaint about that.

Was rocking the Jones jersey down at Olympic Plaza tonight - my takeaways from the Hometown Hockey production:
- The emcees they had down there were... alright. I was also at the NHL FaceOff in October which was an NHL event, and it was a stellar production. This wasn't as good.
- Ron MacLean was a class act, as usual. They had a lot of former Flames down there, too.
- Backstrom played lights-out. Monahamilton was even better.

To be fair, the guy was probably used to playing in front of Vezina-calibre Tuukka Rask. His first month here he must have been thinking WTF is wrong with our goaltenders...

I don't think his post fit any sort of reality of the Backstrom situation. He is too old, nobody said he was garbage, clearly he IS past his prime, and nobody said we needed a 21 year old goalie to get wins.
It was an odd post, as I think most fans, coaches and media understand exactly why Backstrom is here. We're not hoping he finds his form and answers our goaltending questions for next year and beyond, neither is anyone upset or pissed off that he's getting the starts he was promised. If anything most have been appreciative that the organization is doing a classy thing that will get noticed around the league and help us in future transactions.
OzyFlame's post seems like he just pulled out a bunch of sports clichés for older players and threw them back in CP's face, lol.
