Does anyone have a clip of the exploding water bottle in the first period? Must have gone 25 feet in the air. Did any TV cameras catch it?

Looked pretty weak to me.
The call was legitimate, Ortio should be more careful with his stick.

I'd have to see a replay, but my reaction at the game was that it was a bit of weak call. Understandable call, but on the weak side. Jarome definitely flopped a bit

Booting Hamilton out pissed me off though.

Not that it mattered. Good PK then piss poor effort in the shootout

I don't think he flopped at all. Ortio's stick was between Iginla's legs and he tried to skate and got tripped up, the refs probably would have let it go, but he would have been the first guy to the puck in the offensive zone, they had to call it.

If it happened to one of the Flames in overtime I would definitely expect a PP.

Ah, just one of those things where they let so much go beforehand then call that. Understandable call, but come on, and least make it both ways.

Kicking Hamilton out was what made me mad though

Didn't watch the game, but a few things stood out from watching the highlights and looking at the box score.

Didn't like Ortio's positioning on the 1st goal. I know its a cross crease pass that Engellend should maybe do better to intercept, but Ortio for me was too far over to be able to recover and its not the first time I've been concerned by his positioning. He on a number of occasions during this recent run of games has lost his net. He looks solid for the most part, but there are moments when he seems to lose his awareness and over commits. Maybe thats what he gets told to do, dunno. Maybe thats what he's supposed to do. But it does alarm me at times.

On the box score, I notice that Gio was a -2 despite scoring and Engellend was -3. I saw the goals and whilst I didn't notice any glaring faults, I do find it a trend that every time Engellend has to step up and play top 4 minutes, his partner usually suffers. Last season it was Brodie, this time its Gio. I would much rather Hartley give Kevin or Nakladal those 20 minutes of 2nd pairing ice time over Engellend, see if one of them sticks. Because I can't believe(and I hope it isn't) the plan is for Engellend to be our 2nd pairing guy for next season. Why can't Kevin get a shot on the 2nd pairing? Anyone agree/disagree?

Gio and Engelland were good. Gio has been playing well, I disagree with your assertion that Engelland is dragging his game down. Both are playing well.

I think Jokipakka definitely has a chance to be a top 4 guy next year. Perhaps with Hamilton if they keep Gio/Brodie together

Other than that, decent game all around I guess. Shorthanded goals are awesome. Shootouts where everyone fumbles the puck are not.

The first bolded section I don't have any problems with at all.

The second bolded section is not cool beans at all.

Derek Wills said "and someone just threw a orange puck onto the ice"....he thought the lid was a orange puck.

Flames played rather well but never trust how a team plays after they are out of contention. I hope BT doesn't forget that.

I have been very skeptical of Ortio but he is at least making a case for being in the mix for backup next year.

I only saw the shootout. Looked like Jonny & Sean were on slow motion. Oh well, rather have Colorado in than Minny.

I don't have kids, but if I did, I might have thrown punches over either part. Unacceptable. I can't believe they got away with the first.

I felt really bad for the guy next to me. Brought his 2 young daughters to the game, couldn't have been older than 3 and 5, and they were absolute angels. Very engaged in the game, extremely well behaved, but surrounded by these complete morons.
