Wow. Heavy stuff there Sir Alex. This is why he gets the big bucks, prognostications like when he predicts that the league leaders by 5 points with a relatively easy run-in are going to win.
Revolutionary stuff.
Nice try but bit of a fail on the comprehension front. Read it again.
He said they would win with three games to spare. That translates as they are going to gain another five points in the next six games.
So, yes, that's a pretty hefty claim when most are still waiting on them to do a Stevie.
I really like Dimitri Payet too, but at this point, I'd be shocked if N'Golo Kante didn't win player of the year. What a player.
I thought he was the key to their success this year, but then they lost him for a couple games and didn't miss a beat. It doesn't mean he isn't important, and he's had a great year, I just thought that might be where they would slip up.
well there's a power struggle at United right now. On the one side, you have the Glazers, Ed Woodward and Richard Arnold ... those are the suits who simply care about money and marketing. This group will push for Mourinho (although Woodward will still say his prayers that LVG can somehow turn a corner, since the sacking of yet another manager will fall back on him). On the other hand, you have the members of the football board - Sir Alex, Sir Bobby and David Gill, among others. This group kind of hates Mourinho (especially Charlton) and will push for Giggs instead (blech). As a fan, I love the second group to death, but they are blinded by loyality when it comes to Giggs. Anyway, this group's influence seems to be dwindling anyway and I highly doubt United will opt for the unexperienced Giggs in a time where they desperately need some success.
Expect the first group to get their man.

Okay, thanks, that was a good explanation.
I guess my point was that United and Arsenal are kind of like the last two kids looking for a chair before the music stops.
By having waited so long all the good ones are gone.

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.
not sure if they have waited too long. United wanted Ancelotti, but he turned them down because he had already agreed to join Bayern. United had a decent start under van Gaal this season, it just turned to #### in November/December ... it simply made no sense to actively look for a coach before that. When everything crashed and burned, Klopp and Ancelotti were already off the market. They were more than interested in Guardiola, but given the current state of the club, probably no CL next year and Pep's buddy beig Citys director of football, I don't think they ever had a chance to get him.
So that leaves Mourinho ... sadly. But hey, objectively speaking, I think they are made for each other right now. United is desperate for success after ruining Fergusons legacy in less than 3 years, while Mourinho has always wanted the job and is desperate to prove that he's still got it. It could work ... or it could crash and burn. We'll see, but the bottom line is that United is the only big club out there desperate enough to give the job to Mourinho right now.
Arsenal ... honestly I just can't see them sack Wenger. This season really isn't any different from any of the last 10 and they have never sacked him, so why now? Unless they fail to make top 4, I think Kroenke will keep him.
