3-0 Flames. All hopes of Laine and Matthews are fading. At least Ortio's building up an NHL save percentage, which is the silver lining in that.

I will take a 20% chance at a top 3 pick and Ortio finally realizing his NHL potential, thank you very much.

If Ortio can become an average starting goalie. Awesome. If he becomes a capable backup, I'm just fine with that.

Yeah it seems like the buzz from last years playoff race really wore off quickly in the city.

Dome is a library again, disappointing to see. Oh well cheaper tickets for fans now haha.

Disappointing that fans aren't going nuts for one of the worst teams in the league? Be happy we're not showing up with bags on our heads or any of that nonsense.

Fans are still showing up and they're not booing. That's a win when you're a bad team.

Ortio can become an above average starting goalie, his ceiling is extremely underrated due to the slow starts he tends to have (Which is something even guys like Rask have had). The way he's playing right now, is not even "hot" Ortio, it's just steady Ortio, but he has another gear in him. Over the course of a season, steady Ortio with streaks of hot Ortio would be a bonafide starter, not unlike another guy who was .906 in 15 games last season behind a top defensive team as a 24 year old, and is a .918 in 58 games this season as a 25 year old.....................

Gauthier seems to be dropping. Haven't seen him in any top 10s lately. I think there's a good chance the player we draft is from the following short list:

Matthews, Laine, Puljujarvi, Tkachuk, Dubois, Chychrun, Juolevi, Sergachev, Nylander

I'd consider the following long shots to be our selection:

Bean, Fabbro, Gauthier, Jones, McLeod

The Avalanche play out their season at their current point per game pace and end up with 88 points. The Flames win their last 12 games, starting tonight, to end up with 89 points and make the playoffs.

Book it.

Love the blueline, and comfortable with the top 6. Can't wait to replace Matt Stajan with a guy like Freddie.

Never hoping for a player injury but if Bollig could get a paper cut or something and go on IR there are lots of guys in Stockton that I would love to see have a chance to show what they have

Tonight's third line should be what we have as a 4th line - Bouma - Freddie/Bill Arnold/Derek Grant - Hathaway.

No more Stajan, Bollig, as I feel you only need one of Stajan/Backlund as your experienced C now that Monahan is coming along so well, and you only need 2 of Bouma/Bollig as a veteran physical player

Too bad we didn't go on big runs to end the 2013 and 2014 seasons. Going out on a hot streak would've totally been worth it, even if it meant drafting Morrissey and Perlini instead of Monahan and Bennett.

We wouldn't have had the playoffs last year but at least some fans would have the moral high ground. Or something.

Seriously, this tanking debate has got to be the most mind numbing crap ever. For me, it's actually the worst part of a season like this.
